| Personality: Easy going on the surface, and personable Padrin never the less has a deep buried stubborn streak and once he digs his heels in he cannot be moved. Sometimes he will take a stance and try and convince you black is white rather than back down. His attitude to the things he cannot do is that they are not worthwhile anyway and he has no respect for anything that is not tangible and produces results. However, he has fierce loyalties..that override the rules, and constantly plays Rules to his own advantage. He'll bend them when it suits him, and use them as a cast iron defence as well.... depending on which side of them he is standing that day. His main problem is he has little way of comprehending that dragons are more than creatures, because the mental bond is not something he can see or touch, and can't quite rid himself of the attitude that they are worthy beasts...but beasts, aren't they? Since he chose not to slack in his studies, he never learned much about the dragonriders and their lifestyle. He was Searched, much to his surprise, and brought to Arolos. He thought this would just be another distraction from more studying and didn't get involved with any of his fellow Candidates. During (boring) lectures about becoming a dragonrider, Padrin questioned everything. This life was totally foreign to him and he wasn't sure if he liked it. Nevertheless, he stood and Impressed brown Belaborth. He is more open-minded everyday but is still unsteady about the whole thing. He does love his new friend but the whole idea of being so closely bonded with something is still a shock. History: Padrin was the first son of Holder family of a small cothold in the region of Ista. His mother was an Infirmary assistant and his father ran the Cothold along with the other extended members of their family. Padrin was a bright youngster, but despite all his parents hopes proved to have no liking for study at all. In fact he hated it with a passion. But give him something practical and he would take to it with uncanny ease. As such he slacked off his lessons and was often found doing more practical chores. Dragon Name: Belaborth Colour: Brown Age: 2 1/2 Wing: Skystrikers Appearance: Belaborth is a medium, klah-brown. He has warmer, almost tan streaks down both sides. He is an average size, but still growing. Belaborth's head is wide and strong-looking. Personality: Belaborth came into the world with a crash as another hatchling bumped into the little brown. He searched out Padrin and instantly became very closely linked to the doubtful Candidate. Since hatching, the brown has turned out to be a spunky, fun dragon. He is always amusing his new lifemate with funny questions or comments. Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: Despite being very playful, Belaborth is an attentive listener. He learns new skills easily and is becoming a competant flyer. |
