I'll catch you up. Last year was all about self discovery. Getting to know myself. This year has been about taking care of myself. I'm still learning. It seems I'm not very good at it. I decided to divide it into 5 facets. The physical, mental, emotional, sexual, and spiritual sides are what I'm concentrating on.

For the physical part of me, I've been keeping a food journal and TRYING to walk every so often. It seems.... I'm lazy. Who knew?! I've also been trying to drink water regularly. I don't like water much.

The emotional stuff, I've been mostly concentrating on relaxation and meditation. I do journaling. I'm trying something called candle therapy. It's very relaxing but it's not easy slowing down my brain. I've also been very vocal lately instead of stuffing everything. It seems to be helping some.

As far as mental goes, I'm still working on my panic attacks.

To me, working on the sexual facet means learning about my femininity. It's been very interesting. I've realized that I'm getting tired of being "one of the guys". I was always told that being girly meant being weak. It doesn't have to be that way. I no longer feel like a loser or feel guilty for being "just a mom". So now, I pamper myself more. I do things that make me feel nice. I wear jewelry again and make up every so often.

Spirituality has been something I'm always working on. I'm still deciding if I want to be more well rounded about it or work on it strictly from the Bible.

Anyway, as you can see, I've been a bit preoccupied. I hope to update more often.

I haven't updated because not much is going on lately.  I got cable TV back but, the only thing on that I like is Wonderfalls.  If you haven't seen it, you should.

In January my boyfriend, Jeff,   took us to Disneyland's California Adventures.  We had a lot of fun.   There aren't many rides but there is a lot to do there.  They're adding more stuff which is great because we did pretty much all there was to do by 5pm.

I'm reading a book by Sue Bender called Plain and Simple: A Journey to the Amish.  She stayed with some Amish families and learned a lot.  Then she comes home and tries to assimilate what she's learned into her own everyday life.  It's interesting and a fast read.   One thing I found interesting was, the woman she first stayed with, Emma Yoder, has the same name as the Amish woman that the couple in For Richer For Poorer stayed with.   It must be a very common name among the Amish.

I'm starting on my handmade journal's that I've been wanting to make.  As soon as I finish some, I'll post some pics.   Until then, I hope everyone is doing well :)

Most of my friends know that I don't watch TV.  I've been on an involuntary TV fast.  I'd rather be without it than pay the cable company $41 a month!  So, how do I entertain myself?  I do several things:

One thing I've been into the past 6 months is Old Time Radio shows.  I download OTR wherever I can get it.  (OTR was never copyrighted so feel free to download it when you find it.)   Websites, Kazaa, friends, YahooGroups.  I go to Google and do searches.   If anyone's interested, here's a link to a huge download list.  There are several that are listed that have weekly downloads.  Some are links to FTP sites.

What do I do while I'm listening to OTR?
I crochet.   Right now I'm making my niece, Janine, a hat.
I play a lot of Yahoo Games.  Bookworm is my favorite.
I chat at Firebird's Forest on the Palace.   You should download it and chat with me.  I'm the one usually sitting in the tree, with wings.  There are hundreds of palaces to choose from, and so many avatars and props to play around with.  You can sit by a flowing river with water sounds.   In what other chat room could you do that?

*I've done a little site tweaking here and there.  See any differences?

*I thought I'd share some links for those who want someplace to surf to.

wwdotnet.gif (5055 bytes)- I went to this site thinking it might be a "where is he now" type thing, but not at all.  He's a great writer and he has a lot to say.  Go take a look.

I know most of you have heard me go on about LinkyDinky.com.  I love this site!  Once a week they find new links of interesting, odd, weird places to check out.  Some sites might be inappropriate but they warn you first, so you don't have to see anything you don't want to see.

AboveTopSecret.com - I stumbled into this conspiracy board and got so into reading about chupacabras that I kept coming back.  I never joined but I enjoy reading what everyone has to say.  If you get paranoid easily,  don't go here.   You'll be wondering if we really are being poisoned by the water and if "they" really are watching you... which, they could be *nods*

*I added more links to the Links page.
*Updated my Contact Info.

July 30, 2002
* I've added a new poll - What type of books do you read most?
* I've added the Updates section.  Well I tweaked what I already had.
* I've updated my LiveJournal, so if you want to read that, feel free.
