Hutch Designs

This is my favorite hutch design, my husband and I made the double decker desine with chicken wire, 2 X 2's, old paneling for the back and top, and we put plastic over the chicken wire on the 2 exposed sides during winter. We built each cage 36" X 36". We dug a trench at the back of the cage, and would hose the manure off the roof of the bottom cages, into the trench. We put J feeders on the cages in the space in the middle of the cage. The chicken wire didn't hold up well, if I had to do it over, I would use 1" X 2" wire, we used the 1/2" X 1/2" wire for the flooring.
