A few days later Amy, Angela, and Taylor received tickets to go to the Rosie O'Donnell show in Los Angeles. They took their seats and the announcer stood up, "Hi. This is the Rosie O'Donnell Show. Today's guests are Mike Meyers and the Backstreet Boys. Hit it John!"

The crowd cheered. Taylor clapped but lacked enthusiasm. "Hey what's up with you?" asked Angela.

"I haven't spoken to Nick since the other night at dinner," said Taylor. "He hasn't called me or anything."

"Well he's giving you some space to think. Did you try calling him?" commented Amy.

"Yeah, but he didn't answer the phone."

The show continued. Mike Meyers came out and was interviewed in his "Dr. Evil chair". Taylor began to cheer up and laugh along with the audience. A monkey that had been on a previous show came out dressed like "Mini Me". It sat patiently next to Mike Meyers during the interview.

The Backstreet Boys came onto the stage in white suits. They performed "Show Me the Meaning." Taylor didn't take her eyes off Nick. She watched the emotion he put into the song. Her heart ached at the thought that he had been avoiding her the past few days.

When the song ended the audience cheered and Rosie walked over to hug the guys. They took their seats on the stage for the interview. Nick sat in "Dr. Evil's chair" and put on joke glasses and nose. Rosie gave him a peculiar look and asked, "There's no opening in the nose. How do you smell?"

Brian cut in, "Awful. Trust me, he has the bunk below me."

"Hey," retorted Nick reaching over to smack Brian. He accidentally hit a button on the chair and it began to spin. It went around and around until the stage manager pulled the plug. Nick leaned over and put his hands on his knees, "Oh no, gonna vom."

The guys tried to contain their laughter. "Are you ok man?" asked Brian.

"Yeah. I'm alright," responded Nick.

The interview continued as the Boys talked about their plans for the upcoming American Tour. "We're really looking forward to touring the states again," said Kevin. "The support we have from the U.S. is overwhelming. The fans have been so great to us. And of course we loving doing things like being on the Rosie O'Donnell Show."

"Oh. I so enjoy having you here," said Rosie. "Are there any other major projects you are working on right now?"

Howie opened his mouth to speak, but the monkey, still dressed as "Mini Me", walked out in front of them to the center of the stage. It turned to look at the audience, gave them "the finger" and scurried off. The conversation resumed as if nothing had happened. "Well we're helping to write a book about life as a Backstreet Boy. Brian and Nick are writing songs for Aaron Carter's next album. Next week we shoot the video for "Show Me the Meaning" and prepare for the tour," said Howie.

"Sure sounds like you're keeping busy." She turned to the audience. "The CD is Millennium. We have a copy for everyone in the audience. Thank you for being here. Will you stay for our game?" she asked.

"Sure, we'd love to," said AJ.

Rosie made her way up into the audience to the chosen contestants. "Well it's time for the Word Game. The contestant picks out a word from the hat and then we take turns trying to sing songs with that word in it," explained Rosie.

Amy stood up. "Hi, what's your name?" asked Rosie.

"Amy."

"Hi Amy. Go ahead and pick a word out of the hat." She reached in and pulled out 'beautiful.' Rosie went first. "You are so beautiful, to me..."

Amy sang, "I'll take my chance on a beautiful stranger..."

Rosie continued, "Oh beautiful for spacious skies..."

Amy thought of yet another, "I wish you'd look at me that way. You're beautiful eyes looking deep into mine..."

"Hmm...," Rosie was stumped. She gave Amy a jacket and moved to the next person. Taylor stood up next. "Hi. You're name is...?" asked Rosie.

"Taylor." She reached into the hat and pulled out the word 'never.'

Rosie sang, "I'll never break your heart..." The guys chuckled.

Taylor began, "I'll never, I'll never find someone like you..."

"Good... uh... Never gonna get it, never gonna get it...," continued Rosie.

"Hmm...," Taylor looked down at Nick who was staring straight at her. "Uh... don't wanna lose to loneliness girl I know we can win. Don't wanna lose to emptiness, no no, never again."

"Great job! Here's a jacket for you. Are you girls BSB fans?" asked Rosie.

"Yeah, you could say that," replied Taylor.

"Would you like to meet them? Would you guys mind that?" asked Rosie turning to the Boys.

"No, that'd be great," replied the guys.

Taylor and Amy walked down to the stage. Putting on their best act, they went down the line. Taylor hugged Brian whispering hellos into his ear. She hugged Howie, Kevin, and AJ. Amy followed. Finally Taylor reached Nick. She let out a small sigh and put her arms around him. She tilted her head up toward his ear. Taylor closed her eyes and whispered, "I love you too."
