RRRRing! RRRRing! "Hello?"
"Hi Brian, sweetie. How are you?" asked Mrs. Littrell.
"I'm fine mom. Is everything ok? I mean it's not even Sunday," replied Brian.
"Everything's alright. It's just that I got a very unexpected phone call from your half-cousin, Taylor."
"My what? Are you joking?"
"No. Your grandfather got married again after your grandmother died at a young age."
"Wow! That's incredible. How come you never told me?" asked Brian in a slightly annoyed tone.
"I don't really know. I suppose I should have. Apparently Taylor has no other cousins beside you and your Uncle Bob's kids, so she was really excited when she heard about you."
"Me too. I'd love to meet her. Does she live anywhere near you or me?"
"No. She lives in California. I'd love to meet her too. Maybe I can arrange for her to come out to Florida with your dad and I this summer. We'd both have a chance to get to know her then."
"Ok. Sounds good."
"Well I'll talk to you later son. I love you."
"Love you too mom. Bye," Brian hung up the phone and walked over to the couch. He sat next to Nick who was fixated on the video game he was playing.
"Everything alright B-rok? I mean your mom's calling and it's not even Sunday."
"Yeah. Well she just got a call from a half cousin I never knew I had."
"Cool," said Nick.
"I may get to meet her if she comes out with my parents in the summer."
"That's cool... So what are we doing tomorrow?"
"I dunno. You want to see a movie?"
"Ok."
