TA440C-B201
ENGINE SPECS: Model Kawasaki TA440C DCSI, 436cc twin cylinder fan cooled, oil injected 2-stroke. Bore is 68mm and the stroke is 60mm. Cubic inches is rated at 26.6. Compression is 6.5-1. Horsepower is factory rated at 40-42hp at 6700 rpms in the dual carb version. Torque is rated at 25-35ft pounds. Hour time on this engine is just 1146 T/T with no prop strikes, damage or mis-use. As you can see in the pics below, its in good condition.
IGNITION: Engine is currently set-up running single CDI (electronic)ignition to single plug heads with both both lighting and generator coils. Magneto output is 120 watts with lighting at 100.
CARBURATION: Fuel intake is via two 34mm Mikuni VM round slide carbs which are pneumatically feed from a dual outlet Mikuni fuel pump. Carbs are equipped with a hand chokes and primer. Fuel consumption in the 1-3gph.
COOLING:Cooling is provided via fan tower/fan assembly along with the forced air set-up. Engine is also factory equipped with the chrome bore cylinders which allows for less friction, better cooling and extended TBO times on the top end.
PTO/DRIVE: PTO is the industry standard 30mm 1.125 tapered. This model engine will accept any belt reductions, direct bolt prop hub, coupler's and power transmission's set-up for this configuration. PTO spins counterclockwise as viewed looking directly down on the end of the engine. If you look below, you will also note a 4-bolt hole pattern around the PTO. We have adapted and have used this pattern to run a Rotax box on this style engine, but it does involve machining and an adapter ring. I have also seen many of these engines run with a direct prop hub arrangements and small carbon fiber props with small diameters, mostly in mud boat and water based applications.
WEIGHT/SIZE: Engines weighs 49 pounds as shown below with carbs. Engine sizing is as follows, 13 1/2" from the bottom of the engine to the top of the spark plugs, 17" in length from the outside of the pull starter to the tip of the PTO and 13" deep from the intake of the carb to exhaust ports.
