Karima Benremouga is currently the Associate Dean of Fine Arts and Language Arts at San Jacinto College Central in the Houston area. Previously, she served as the Director of the Language Acquisition Center at the University of Houston. While she is not teaching this year, she continues to be active in training educators on language methodology and the use of technology in the classroom. Two years ago, she was instrumental in starting the Arabic program at the University of Houston. She enthusiastically taught two semesters of Arabic, Beginning Arabic I and II. She enjoyed teaching Arabic so much that she spend every Sunday developing materials. She also worked with a colleague on Ya Hala. Prior to coming to Texas, she served as the Instructional Technology Specialist at St. Mary's College of Maryland for a very short period of time. Previous to that, she was an assistant professor of French and ESL at Emporia State University in Kansas. For the past 15 years, she taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses ranging from basic language and culture (Arabic, French, ESL) to linguistics and computer education. |
