1. About Lyrique

Back to Index

This is the first lyrics plug-in for Sonique. Lyrique was created by Ken, a 14-year old cool guy.

This Plug-in reads lyric files and displays them in sync with the music. Lyrique also utilizes the new Sonique Info Plug-in SDK.

Ken also created MetreX, another cool visual plug-in for Sonique.

2. Requirements

Back to Index

To run and use Lyrique you need Sonique 1.808 (or higher), cause this version or higher can support info plug-ins (like Lyrique).

If you don't have the Sonique 1.808 (or higher) or an older version you can simply download the newest version from www.sonique.com.

You also need some lyric files for your songs.

3. How to use Lyrique

Back to Index

Start Sonique and play your song with a corresponding lyrics file. Now start Lyrique and let's sing.

If the lyrics don't show up, or you get the message "Unable to Locate Lyrics File", click the [options] button. Type the location of the lyrics files then click the button again. If the lyrics still don't show up, make sure that the Lyric files are ending with *.TXT and are in your lyrics directory.

4. The Lyrics Files

Back to Index

Lyrics files have similar filename with their corresponding MP3 Songs. The only difference is lyrics files end in *.TXT or *.LRC instead of *.MP3.

If your lyrics files end in *.LCR, temporarily rename them to *.TXT ( Lyrique will support *.LRC files in the future ).

If you want more Lyrics files, please don't e-mail me. Read the F.A.Q. Section first and be happy ;-)

5. Configuration

Back to Index

Click the [options] button. Type your lyrics directory then click the button again. Please make sure that the Lyric files are ending with *.TXT and are in your lyrics directory.

And by the way, Lyrique saves your lyrics directory entry in your Windows Directory in the Lyrique.ini file.

6. Future Plans

Back to Index

  • Better configuration system.
  • Optimize the lyrics engine.
  • Configurable fonts.
  • Show all lyrics, with the current line being highlighted.
  • Support for *.LRC files.
  • Skin support.

7. F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where can I get more lyrics files ?

Search the web for "lyrics" or something by using Mamma or Yahoo instead. But don't worry, I will add links to some sites in the future, where you can get your lyrics. During the waiting time for the next version try these links:

  • The lyrics are not synchronized with the music !

The problem is in the lyrics file. Either you have a different version of the song, or the creator of the lyrics file is deaf. Try to get another lyrics file.

  • Where can I download Lyrique 1.0?

Click here to download the file.

  • No lyrics are displayed.

Check the lyrics file in your your lyrics directory. You can open the renamed lyric files with Notepad.

  • I receive the error message "Unable to Locate Lyrics File".

Click the [options] button. Type the location of the Lyrics files then click the button again. If the lyrics still don't show up, make sure that the Lyric files are ending with *.TXT and are in your lyrics directory.

  • I receive the error message "Invalid Path".

Check the path that you've entered. Make sure it exists.

  • The lyrics links don't work.

Please recheck them and if you are really sure that the links are broken, please e-mail me.

  • Your lyrics plug-in sucks.

I know. Please bear in you mind that this Plug-in is only on its early stages.

Many many more features will be added in the succeeding versions.

And please take note, that this Plug-in was made by only a 14-year old guy, so I'm not a professional l33t programmer.

If you still insist that the Lyrique plug-in sucks, then I recommend that you try making your own lyrics plug-in and stop using mine !

  • What if I encounter a bug ?

Good! Please report them by sending me an e-mail. Read the contact info below.
