This is Aurora, the fairy that watches over my online garden.  Isn't she beautiful?  Amy Brown painted her picture, you can reach her site through the link at the bottom of this page.

These Wild Roses also grow on the fence that surrounds the woods. Not only are the blooms beautiful, in varied shades of white through deep rose (depending on the age of the flower), but the rose hips are packed with vitamins. A rose hip a day keeps the doctor away :)
The lawn freaks can glare at me all they want, but in early spring, the sight of all these dandelions in bloom in our north yard is glorious! That portion of the property stays wet from the spring rains much longer than the rest of the property and the grass (and dandelions) get almost hip high by the time Hubby goes to mow it. The greens are delicious if you get to them before they start to bloom, after that they are bitter.  The root can be dried and roasted, ground up and mixed with an equal amount of chicory root, it makes a tolerable substitute for coffee. But digging up the roots is a big job! They seem to go down forever. But the best thing about dandelions are when Granbaby brings in a bouquet of "purty flowers" for Mamaw! I will always associate Dandelions with Granbaby.
