Fees:
$30.00 per hour plus expenses. Minimum three hours. Expenses include copies, postage, parking, etc. Mileage is charged for travel beyond Cook and Lake counties, Illinois.
Procedure:
In order to begin the research, I will need some information from you:
-your specific goal (copy of a particular birth certificate, discovery of a birth place or parent�s name, photograph of a particular tombstone)
-name, event date or timeframe and county of residence of the target ancestor(s)
-list of records already searched and results found, in order to avoid duplication of effort
Additional information may be necessary or helpful, depending on the nature of the specific research requested.
Results generally within 8 weeks of starting research.
There is currently a 6 month waiting list for new clients.
Qualifications:
Certified by the Board for Certification of Genealogists. More than 25 years genealogical research experience. Advanced degree in social sciences.
Completion of several genealogical courses, extensive professional reading, and attendance at numerous conferences, institutes and seminars.
Memberships:
Member of several genealogical societies including the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, the Chicago Genealogical Society, the Lake County (Illinois) Genealogical Society, the British Interest Group of Wisconsin and Illinois, and the Illinois State Genealogical Society.
