The Rotary Club of Kissimmee Bay
How to Become a Member

Rotary is always seeking new members; but it is the quality--not the quantity--of membership that counts. For this reason, member recruitment is done by invitation and member recommendation only. If you have not been invited to join Rotary, and you are an interested business or professional leader in Osceola County, the Kissimmee Bay Rotary club would be happy to host you at one of our meetings.

Our members are happy to share Rotary with you. If you are being considered for membership, you may attend meetings at our expense until your official induction into our club.
    * Attendance: Our one-hour meetings are held weekly except for legal holidays. Our club by-laws require a minimum of 60% attendance, but we encourage 100% attendance. A missed meeting can be made up at any of the Rotary Clubs world-wide. Make-ups must be within a four-week window (two weeks before the missed meeting or two weeks after the missed meeting.) Any member missing four weeks in a row without a make-up is automatically on membership probation and in jeopardy of being removed from the club.
    * Time Commitment: In addition to attending the regular meetings, members are required to commit time to one or more of the Rotary Avenues of Service: Community Service, Vocational Service, Club Service, and International Service. Members are expected to support all club functions, programs, and fund raisers.
    * Financial Commitment: There is an initiation fee for new members, and an  annual membership fee of $100. Meals are billed quarterly in advance at $6.50 per week. We encourage our members to contribute a minimum of $25 per quarter to the Rotary Foundation.  There are other expenses throughout the year, of course, depending on various club projects and functions.
CommitmentsRotarians are expected to be generous with time, talent, and resources. Rotarians serve and work together to better local communities and the world. Rotarians are expected to be faithful and consistent participants in Rotary projects, meetings, and events. The requirements listed below are minimum requirements, but true Rotarians seldom are satisfied with minimal efforts!
    * Leadership Commitment: Rotarians are expected to be leaders, and to lead in an exemplary manner. As you mature in Rotary, you will be expected to help lead in one or more area; or you may be asked to be an officer: a treasurer, a sergeant-at-arms, a secretary, or a club president.
What is Rotary?

Rotary is the number one service club in the world! Men and women of all countries, races, and creeds join together to serve their communities and to further peace and understanding!
     *
Rotary clubs support community projects and activities! In Osceola County, Rotary awards college and technical scholarships; helps with local schools (including band, choral, athletic, science, and career programs); supports such agencies as the Council on Aging and Junior Achievement; assists with childhood disease innoculations; and strives to work closely with local chambers and other civic groups.
     *
Rotary builds the future! Rotary sponsors business, cultural, and youth exchanges; and grants international education scholarships for local leaders. Rotary's Polio-Plus campaign successfully built a coalition of organizations to eradicate polio from the face of the earth by the year 2005. Rotary strives to better our community and to build world peace and understanding.
     *
Rotary was the first service club in the world and is the only major service club that continues to grow in membership! Rotary's secret of success is that it brings business and professional relationships together with the ideals of service, ethics, fellowship, and peace! It's an unbeatable combination!
