South-Eastern shores
of Port Stephens and is
the major town for the area.

It,s a popular place with
tourist, particularly in
summer, and superb snorkelling
and scuba diving spot.


Nelson Bay is known as the
'Dolphin Capital of Australia'.
Approximately 160 Bottlenose
dolphins reside permanently in
the waters of Port Stephens and
can be seen at any time of the year.
Dolphins are probably the most intelligent
and best loved creature in the sea.
These dolphins often take great delight
in riding the bow waves of any passing boat.
