How Am I A GeniusAs Thomas Armstrong says "every student is a genius". His definition of genius though maybe completely different from yours or mine. His version of a genius is giving birth to the joy of learning. There are 12 qualities of a genius that every student has. From the 12 qualities I have the quality of curiosity. The way I show this quality is by always questioning facts. Wondering how things came to be, how a rock became a certain shape, or how history was made due to a certain event. In school I showed my quality by picking random pages in a text book and reading until I learned something new. Another way I show this quality is in my everyday life. When I was younger I would take apart toys to see how they look on the inside to then put them back together and make it look as if nothing was ever done to the toy. I show my genius in the quality of curiosity. In school it is hard for me to focus when something isn't interesting. In order to gain some interest I would grab a text book, and skim through the pages until something caught my eye. Learning about the life of a dictator or how an insect lays its eggs or about how the solar system was formed. I've always wondered why was the answer to a question that answer, thinking of all the possibilities. In my life I've always been a curious person. I'm never satisfied with one answer, I always want to know details into a person's answer or reason behind believing something. When I was younger I would watch whenever the cable guy would come over and fix the box. I would be like his shadow just trying to figure out what goes where or what chip to burn. I would do that not only to see what's going on but to see if next time the cables messes up I wouldn't have to call the guy. I would be able to do it myself. Thomas Armstrong's definition of a genius is not someone who is in the 99th percentile in an exam of standardized measure of intelligence. It is someone who possess one or more quality of genius in order to learn. Whether it is curiosity, wisdom, or humor everyone has a different way of learning. My way of learning is through curiosity. I look for every different possibility to an answer. I try everything in order to get the answer I feel is best.
