Dot dot dot. The Suicide butterfly. Dot.
You may think that they're all carefree
Flitting, fluttering, gliding along gracefully
But all is not as it appears to be so
There was one among them who took up his knife
Vowing then and there to take his own life
For Ted the butterfly just knew he had to go.
"This is it! The end at last!" he cried with sick joy
Brandishing his blade as if some malicious toy
But sigh, alas for Ted, 'twas not to be
For as he was about to make the final cut
LIght from the sky! A lightening bolt struck
Casting his dagger into the knothole of a tree.
"Nooooooooooooooo my Oasis!!"
Ted frantically dashed down into the abyss
Desperately shrieking out, "Oasis! Oasis! Where art thou?"
He smashed headlong into a hard lumpy surface
To discover his wretched self in a tweed nest
And was startled when a mysterious voice sung low;
"Oh Mr. Butterfly, pray reveal thine name?"
"I beg thine pardon; the name is Ted."
"And what is it htat thou most desire?"
"I sincerely wish that i were dead."
The voice nearly burst, shouting "Oh what a tragic mess!
You, dear Ted, must be buckling from all of the stress.
The loss of your implement has left you in a fix.
I'd willingly aid you in your cowardly search for your end
As it seems nowadasy to be a highly fasionable trend
But I'm afraid Raven and Monarch just don't mix."
Ted beseeched the raven, on his...feelers... and legs
But the big black bird just ignored his plaintative begs
"You don't understand! I wish for eternal peace of mind!"
"So why not find another instrument for your demise?"
Before Ted could make a sharp remark, to both of their surprise
The answer came down and caught dear Ted in a bind.
So you see, all creatures have their individual tragedies
All the petty people, all the sadness-stricken birds and bees
But Ted's embarrassing fate was especially big.
It was not the moth's stereotypical "death by light fixture"
But, indeed, a far more humilliating and grotesque picture
For Ted the butterfly unfortunately suffered "DEATH BY TWIG."
