Card Captor Sakura

This series has been totally under-rated by a lot of people, but in reality, this is a really good series. It's sometimes scarey though, if you look at some of the fans of this series and the stuff they collect. The best of Clamp's works, you'll have to check this out if you're a fan of Clamp.

Plotline - Sakura lived a pretty average life in middle school, with her brother and dad. One day, she finds this strange book in the basement of her house. As she opens this mysterious book, about 60 cards fly out of her house. Along with the cards, a small flying cat thingy also appears. The flying cat thingy, named Kero, explains that Sakura must go out and collect back the cards that flew out or else the entire world will face emminent danger! After giving Sakura a magic wand, she's out to collect cards.

Ok, so the plot doesn't sound exciting... but so what? There's a ton of episodes (70 + 2 movies) I believe, and you'll be pretty addicted to this anime by the end. One of the interesting things about this anime, is that it was a new concept back when it was made. The Op's and ED's are also one of the most tune catching songs that you'll ever hear. My reason for recommending this anime? It's all about Sakura of course. Sakura is without a doubt, the best character ever made in the history of anime. If there was a "Favorite Anime Character" page, Sakura would definitly be at the top. The character development is one of the best I've seen, and there's tons of plot twists (It's not like "Oh my god, there's 70 cards!?", but something more interesting. All and all, this series is really good. If you wanted a order to watch it in, it would be:

Season 1 - Movie 1 - Season 2 - Season 3 - Movie 2

The Op's would seperate the seasons for those of you that don't know. Did I mention that the ending is also pretty awesome? It's just such a good mix of between light humor, drama, and action (It's not like Yu-Gi-Oh or pokemon.). One last thing that I should add is that you should NEVER watch the dubbed version. Unlike Kenshin where they only changed the voices and meanings, they completely edited episodes to cut off some of the plot in the series. It's a sad thing really, and it ruined the show for 95% of the people who originally liked it. That being said, here's more Sakura!

My score: 9.0 / 10
