My first addiction to a Shoujo-ai series, this is pretty interesting at first glance.
Plotline - Kurusegawa Himeko has always been a quiet girl. One day, she finds someone named Himemiya Chikane in a secluded flower garden. Chatting like Chikane was a normal person, Himeko and Chikane quickly became friends. However the next day at school, Himeko avoids Chikane because she learned that Chikane was the most popular girl there at school. Refined, aloof, and high in status, Himeko couldn't compare against Chikane. On the day of Himeko's birthday, a evil gate opens on the town. Not realizing it, Himeko and Chikane are branded with the symbol of Priests. Now they both must perform a sacred but costly ritual in order to protect the world.

Ok, this series started out ok till the end of episode one. So we have the usual "Hmm... she's unconcious... now's my chance to kiss her!" type scene. Then suddenly out of no where, they bust out with Gundam type robots that start fighting. What... the... freak? Shoujo-ai mixed with robots and super natural powers? I suppose they needed something to fill in the plot since there's not too many fans of shoujo-ai.
In case you didn't know what shoujo-ai is, it's basically translated as "Girl Love". It's not really Yuri or Hentai, but instead it focuses more on the relationship. Beats the heck out of the usual Love Hina and Onegai Teacher plotline, I'd say. Even though it got pretty interesting around the middle with a big plot twist, it still ended weakly. However, this does not shadow the fact that this is a pretty interesting anime. Shoujo-ai is a very interesting topic, one that Clamp covered on in some of their manga's. Being one of the few shoujo-ai anime series, you just can't pass this one up.
Kotoko does the OP and ED, which made somewhat of a difference on how I scored Kannaduki no Miko. The ending song along with the animation is so captivating... Too bad the crappy compressed version sucks.
My Score: 8.1 / 10
