Full Moon o Sagashite

I feel that this series is one of those things that are made well overall.

Plotline - Mitsuki's long life dream ever since her childhood, was to become a singer. Unfortuantly, she has this throat disease that prevents her from singing all too well. Not wanting to give up her dream, Mitsuki secretly decided to attend this job opening for singing. A little bit before the appointed time, two Shinigami's pop up in Mitsuki's room and tell her that she will die in a year or so, as a result from her throat disease. Still not wanting to give up her dreams, Mitsuki explains that she wants her voice to reach her childhood friend that moved away to America(Eichi was his name, I think?). Takato, one of the Shinigami's, decides to help Mitsuki out by transforming her into an older version of herself with the snap of his fingers, without the hinderance of the throat disease. Aware of the fact that she will die within a year, Mitsuki still pursues her dream to become a famous singer in order for her songs to reach her childhood friend in America.

I can't really express fully in words on how amazing Full Moon really is. It doesn't sound exciting from the plot summary, but it's just made so freaking good that I don't think it matters. It's a little slow paced for the first 30 episodes or so, but then the last 22 episodes will touch you deeply. The main theme of this anime is emphasized on singing (Obviously), and I'm sure your thoughts on music will change somewhat after watching this series. A mix between drama, humor, and romance, Full Moon o Sagashite is something that has no equal.

Here's a quote from some random person:

"So... I just finished watching this one and I must say, it's the best anime I've ever watched... I made a post on these forums earlier complaining to why it eas so bad and I just couldn't understand how it was rated #1 on animenfo.com...

A few months ago or so I started watching it. I watched 1-30 in about 2 months time or so. I thought it was really bad. So shallow, no substance at all... Just a random crap anime. The only thing that kept me watching was the style of drawing which was the best I've ever seen...

So, yesterday I turned on episode 35 and I thought "Heck I can watch one before I go to sleep"... So I watched one and it kinda turned around there. The show became deeper and more serious with a big twist of events... I watched 35-52 in this series in a sitting. I'm a 20 year old guy but at the last episode I cried like a little girl. I've never been so moved by anything. Not even in real life. It's insane. This anime is truly the best one I have ever seen. I can not stress this enough... God damn I'm still in shock..."

Honestly, my expectation level for good animes raised drastically after watching Full Moon. It's also been said that this anime has one of the best endings ever, and I also agree to this statement. There's a lot of plot twists and things that keep things real interesting, but you can see those for yourself. Unless you're one of those people that positively can't stand non-action related animes, I strongly recommend this to everyone.

My score: 9.5 / 10
