| Discovery Most painful is the land, Where ignorance runs deep. Bestow upon the now, The experience I seek. I was so very young, So fresh and full of wonder. Then you stepped into my world. And the curse of curiosity Was lifted with your words. You sung the knowledge sweetly, Your body teaching mine. But a price will be paid, If we reach that prime. Most painful is the land, Where ignorance runs deep. But I lose my power... If you give me what I seek. Our long past must show you I do not fear mortality... With each passing breath, I fall deeper to your spell. Yet, in my heart warning, If with you longer I dwell... Your heart will do, What he thinks true, And keep me chaste himself. So pain-filled is the land, Where ignorance runs deep... I will give up my power, To find exactly what I seek. Poetry Home |
