About Royal Albert Hall in 2004

Normally, it takes between one and three years for a show promoter
to
get the approval to use the venue after a stringent vetting of the
proposed performer's status and recognition. Last year, among the
world-
class acts who performed there were Rod Steward, Elton John, Sting,
Tom
Jones, Cliff Richard, James Last, Eric Clapton and Arab's top
crooner
Kazem Al-Sahir.

At a summer festival last year in Amman, Hahn says, “I saw people diving through the crowd hoping just to snap Kazem’s picture through the window of his limousine.” Jeff Peters, a former tour manager for the Beach Boys, was doing al Saher’s sound for the same show: “I hadn’t seen anything like that crowd energy since the Beach Boys played a free concert on the Washington Mall.”

iNOMAD co-founders Stephen and Jamie, recently had the priveledge to
hook up with Iraqi music legend Kadim Al Sahir, after his recent
charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Stephen originally worked
with Kadim on his upcoming collaboration with British music project
One Giant Leap. In conversation Kadim expressed his support for
Offscreen's and iNOMAD's work in the Middle East and wished us every
success in the future. As Stephen, founder of the Offscreen Education
Programme, explained that he often used Kadim's music to inspire
younge people in the UK, Kadim replied with characteristic humility
and insight. , "you know I have learnt with time that children are
smarter than adults because they know what is important in life.  A
lot of children ask me questions that are much more intelligent, more
genuine than the questions adults ask me; we should try and be thier
friends and learn from them". We hear you Kadim. To read more about
Kadim's work and see the recent Channel 4 news feature (watch out for
Kadim's collaborator and iNOMAD's main man in the Middle East Dergham
Owainati in the sunglasses) please visit:
