The Experimental Fanfic
"Kaze, are you listening?"  a voice inquired from the front of the room.
The person who was being addressed looked up to see his teacher calling him.
"Mizuno-san, pay attention!" the teacher burst.
The student in the back of the classroom  was Mizuno Kaze, known by some as the most promising student in the famous high school for exceptionary students known only as "Hikari".  Though not one to bring much attention to himself, Kaze's teacher had startled him in the middle of deep thought.  If anyone knew what he was thinking about, some of his darkest secrets would have been revealed.
"Gomen nesai, Uematsu-sensei.  I was caught up in thought."
"Well, don't let it happen again.  Just because you're a good student doesn't mean you can get out of paying attention."
        "Hai."
It was about then that the bell rang, giving Kaze another cance to think about what had made him the bearer of so many secrets.
It all started about a year ago, when Kaze had been exploring around a nearby lakeshore.  Unexpectedly, he heard a voice calling his name.  Turning behind him, he had discovered an old man, seemingly on the brink of death, that he could have swore wasn't there before.
"You are Mizuno Kaze, right?  Ah, I have found the chosen one at last." the man managed to say with a strength he didn't appear to have.
"Chosen one?  I think you've got me confused me with someone else."
"No, there's no mistake about it.  You are the chosen one."
        "Chosen for what?"
"To carry on the power of the elemental sorcerer, of course."
"You've got me a bit confused.  What's an elemental sorcerer?"
"Oh, I'm not surprised you don't know of us.  The art was lost long to all but a select few."
"Us?  Excuse me if I sound a little blunt, but you don't look like much of a sorcerer to me.  More like an old man who has no idea what he's talking about."
"Well, I suppose I have no choice but to show you."
The old man pointed to a nearby tree and mumbled something under his breath.  Before Kaze could understand what was happening, a ball of fire slammed into the seemingly immobile tree, knocking it to the ground as if it were nothing.
"What the hell was that?!" Kaze yelped.
"That, my dear boy, was elemental sorcery.  I am the last alive with the knowledge of the arts.  Well, perhaps I should say I was.  That title will soon be bestowed upon you, oh chosen one."
"And what exactly would getting this titile mean for me?"
"As the chosen one, you will be bestowed with a few abilities elemental sorcerers do not normally have.  Do you agree to aceept the title of the chosen one?"
"Well...I suppose I've got nothing to lose.  Well, go ahead, do what you have to do."
"Then, by the power bestowed in my unworthy hand, I grant to thee the sacred power."
"Is that it?  I certainly don't feel any different."
"You have special abilites, but so far, you can only use small, basic spells along with your unique abilities.  Therefore, I will give you the power to gain my skills for a short periods of time.  I do not have much more time, but this book will tell you all you need to know.  Take it with my blessing."
"Chapter 1
Powers of the Chosen One"
Well, Kaze figured the title of the book's first chapter was simple enough.  As far as he could see, the book itself seemed about just as simple.  What it had to say, however, was far more interesting...

*********************************************************************************

After some extensive studying, as well as plenty of trial and error, Kaze had learned the powers that were unique to him.  Apparently, he was able to use a sort of teleportation ability to transport himself instantaneously.  He had also been gifted with telekenesis, allowing him to move objects with his mind.
There was something that he still hadn't tried, though.  Supposedly, one of the rituals listed in the book was able to transport him to alternate dimensions.  If this was true, perhaps he would be able to meet the heroes that were only legends in his world, the Sailor Senshi.
It took quite a while, but he finally gathered the courage to try the ritual the book listed.  It seemed that all it required was a simple incantation chanted over an object representing the alternate dimension.  After a little bit of thought, Kaze picked out a "Bishojou Senshi Sailor Moon" CD and placed it on the table in front of him.
"Let's see...now for the incantation. Here goes nothing...Breeze that brushes the endless ocean, grazing infinity's path, deliver to this sacred place thou hast gone throughout in thy ancient journeys...I, the Chosen One, command thee now, deliver!"
As was the stereotype with most rare spells, there was a bright flash of ligh and surely enough, when it cleared, the legendary Sailor Senshi were standing before Kaze.  Something was wrong, however, because Kaze was not the one in unfamiliar surroundings.  On the contrary, the Senshi looked extremely confused.
"Oh, no!" Kaze realized out loud, catching the Senshi's attention, "What a terrible mistake!"
"Huh?" was Sailor Moon's only reply.
Sailor Mercury, who had analysed the situatiom a bit more, had more to say.
"Hmm...it seems that we've been transported somewhere.  Might I ask who you are, sir?"
"Oh, man..." Kaze replied, "I can't believe I'm actually standing face to face with the legendary Sailor Senshi!  Oh, excuse me. I'm Kaze, Mizuno Kaze.  I'm afraid I messed up a little bit on a teleportation spell and you're at my house."
"And where exactly is your house?" Sailor Neptune asked, "Is it in Tokyo?"
"Yes, it's in Tokyo," Kaze hesitated, "but there's a slight problem..."
"I think that's a bit of an understatement" Sailor Uranus pointed out, "Not only do we have no idea where we are, but we also left Chibi Usa and Hotaru behind.  We've got a big problem."
"Well, you see..." Kaze continued, "You're technically in an alternate dimension.  You see, I was trying to transport myself to your dimesion, but I somehow messed up and transported you here instead."
"Well," Sailor Mars prompted, "Can't you just transport us back the same way, then?"
"I'm afraid it's not that simple." Kaze countered, "I'm normally only able to, even with this advanced spell, teleport myself.  I have no idea how I teleported any of you, let alone all of you at the same time.  I'm afraid you're stuck here for a while."
"Where are we going to stay?" Sailor Jupiter pondered.
"That's a good question.  Sailor Mercury, your surname is Mizuno, right?"
"How did you know that?!" Mercury panicked.
"It's a long story, but what's important is that we have the same surname.  We can tell my parents that you're my long-lost cousin and that you're visiting with your friends.  It'll be a bit of a squeeze, but I'm sure they'll let you stay."
Knowing they really didn't have much of a choice, the Senshi all nodded reluctantly.
Little did anyone know that they were being observed from afar by something not quite human.
Kaze awoke the next morning wondering if it had all just been a very weird dream.  As if on cue, the sound of Usagi's snoring from the next room brought reality crashing down on him.  As if all of this wasn't enough, he realized he'd have to take all of the Senshi to school with him somehow.  Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but Ami and Michiru were the only ones in the group that probably fit the usual qualifications of Hikari.
"Kusou...what am I gonna do now?"
"What seems to be the problem?" said a voice from the doorway.
He looked up to see Ami standing before him, her short blue hair a bit disheveled from te previous night's sleep.
