Appearance: His hair is pulled back into a neat bun, but a tiny bit falls in the middle of his forehead. His eyes are small, but equally as expressive. He usually has a gentle countenance.

Personality: As his face would generally tell, Yamanami has a gentleness about him that no other Shinsengumi member can match. He is usually quiet and loves books. However, he should not be mistaken for soft spoken. In his own way, Yamanami has his own set of morals which he stands by loyally.

Past (Manga): As with many of the Shinsengumi members, he too joined the Tennen Rishin Ryuu Kenjutsu Doujou at an earlier date. Otherwise, not much is known about his past.
