Appearance: His hair is tied back in a pony tail and two short strands hang down in the front. His eyes are filled with fire and pride. It's almost as if he was born to be an "Onifukuchou."

Personality: He can be quite the bully sometimes, always poking and prodding in the right places to get people flustered. While it may seem difficult to discern between who he likes and who he hates, a slight inspection will dramatically reveal such truths. Yes, he can be a bully, but he is a bully with a heart that secretly cares about the people closest to him.

Past (Manga): When Hijikata was eighteen, he attended the Shieikan Tennen Rishin Ryuu Kenjutsu Doujou (a style of sword fighting) where he was taught by Kondou. He tried very hard to be seen as a bushi (warrior) by his peers and teachers, but this desire caused him much frustration. When Okita entered the picture, Hijikata began to bully him almost instantly. However, Hijikata slowly learned to like little Okita in his own, strange little bullying-way.
