IRC Gunslinger

This game was designed as a simple set of rules for playing out gunfights on the IRC, but it can also be played offline as a tabletop game, just use plastic or lead gunslinger figures or if you feel abstract, just roll the dice, you don't really need figures at all (though it'd look cooler).

To play on the IRC, you'll need a diceroller script.  Feel free to email me if you need one.

Attributes

Each Gunslinger has 3 Attributes: Speed, Dodge, and Aim

Roll 1d4 to determine which die you use for Speed

Roll Speed Die

1: d6

2: d8

3: d10

4: d12

Roll 1d4 to determine which die you use for Aim

Roll Aim Die

1: d6

2: d8

3: d10

4 : d12

Roll 1d4 to determine which die you use for Dodge

Roll Dodge die

1:  d6

2:  d8

3: d10

4: d12

The Shootout:

This is simple, both gunslingers try to outdraw each other,

then fire, and the last one standing is the winner.

1: Draw

Both players roll their Speed die, the player with the highest roll

has outdrawn the other and gets to shoot first. Determine results of

the shot according to 'Shoot' below, and then if he's still alive, the

loser of the draw may then shoot back.

2: Shoot

The shooter rolls their Aim die and the defender rolls their Dodge die.

If Aim > Dodge, the shot is a hit. If not, its a miss. That simple.

3: Wounds

Roll 1d6 for the result of a wound

1-Head: instant death

2-Gun arm: -1 to aim and speed.

3-spare arm: if both arms hit cannot shoot anymore

4-Leg: -1 to dodge

5-6: Chest: roll 1d4: 1-graze: -1 dodge

2-3: bad wound: -2 dodge

4-instant death

NOTE: when the rules refer to -#, this does not mean you subtract

that number from the die roll. It means you drop down that many number

of dice. ex.- if your dodge die is 1d12, and you recieve a bad chest

wound (-2), you would then roll 1d8 for subsequent dodge rolls (you drop

down 2 die levels, from d12-->d10-->d8.

Reputation: Keep track of the number of gunslingers you kill, this

determines your reputation.
