AC Games

Company Info

AC Games will be a privately owned corporation, specializing in the publication of RPG's, Miniatures Rules (Wargames), and various 'beer and pretzels' games. Initially the corporation will focus on the development and release of small, inexpensive games, while great time and care is taken in the development of our flagship products, a live action medieval combat game, and a Sci-Fi Survival RPG.

All initial games (and most future ones) and supplements are written by myself, DJ Burnett, though I am currently in negotiations with a few other designers regarding purchasing rights to their designs. All AC Games products will be supported on the AC Games website (coming within a few months) and through The Adrenaline Spike (the AC Games newsletter, available free) .

Company Philosophy

The AC Games attitude towards the customers (gamers) is to provide them with a diverse selection of products, to a diverse selection of tastes, at a reasonable price. To this end I am developing games in many genres (sci-fi, fantasy, historical, etc) and in many formats (Role-Playing, Wargames, Beer and Pretzel style games), which will be available at a lower cost than the industry standards. What this means to you, the gamer:  You are likely to find something that interests you amongst our products, and you won't be paying fifty dollars for a 'sourcebook' containing 70% flavor text, 20% art, and only 10% of actually new material. You will get meat and potatoes for your money, and at a much lower price. And everything you buy from us will be supported through Q & A forums in our newsletter, FAQ's on the site (if the need arises), and direct replies through snail or email. Gauranteed. You WILL have your questions answered. There will also be plenty of room on our site for player-written house rules and materials, and from time to time, adventures, scenarios, new rules and articles written by myself or other future AC Games staff.

All of our product lines will also be supported with a steady flow of supplements and new material, free or otherwise, if interest warrants it. I can't promise unlimited support for every product because that's not good business, but I can promise that as long as there are fans, AC Games will do its best to meet your needs.

The Company Strategy

For any of you who are interested, the AC Games strategy  is to start small with smaller games to build the resources for reinvestment to fund our larger products. This means our initial releases will be smaller games for smaller prices ($10 or less). This way we can expand at our own pace without going bankrupt from overreaching.

Within a year we plan to expand our business and begin publishing our larger flagship products (which will still be reasonably priced. As a gamer, I abhor the current price escalation that is going on in the RPG industry. How can we expect new blood for the hobby, and to compete with other forms of entertainment if we require 3 books to play, and each one costs thirty to forty dollars?).

Our marketing campaign will be carried out through internet advertising (no spam) and promotion, conventions, and print ads in gaming magazines.

Final Words

The bottom line is that AC Games is a labor of love. I do not wish, or expect, to get rich from this, or even moderately wealthy. I wish to design good games for people to play, at a reasonable price. The same sort of games that I, as a gamer, would buy and enjoy. Of course, I would also like to make a little money (I'm only human, and I do need to eat), which is why I don't just publish free to the web and be done with it.

Also, please note that AC Games is in the start-up phase, and currently no products are available for release to the general market. The only people laying eyes on these games at this point is playtesters.

The Adrenaline Spike

The Spike is the official house newsletter of AC Games. Currently it contains mostly announcements of upcoming products and projects in the works. In the future it will contain errata, support, articles, and occasionally supplements to released products, as well as articles and information for AC Games products, written by both AC Games staff and the gamers themselves.

The Spike is completely free via the internet, and is available through this site (and the AC Games site in the future), as well as delivered directly to your email inbox (at your request). There is also the option to receive The Spike as a hardcopy, via snail mail, though for this I charge the nominal fee of $5 (US) a year to cover postage and materials.

The Spike is the best way to stay up-to-date with developments in AC Games, and its various products.

**Special Note Regarding The Adrenaline Spike #1**

When composing the first issue of The Spike I planned on going to market with one of my products (GPC) soon. Due to a sudden influx of new ideas to improve and expand this game I have cancelled that plan and went back into development. My current plans are to hold this game for simultaneous release with two other products that are in the final stages of production. I apologize for any inconvienence.
