Like it or not I am who I am
I won't change, or it wouldn't be me.
The things I do, the things I like,
Make me the person that I am.
I'm not saying I necessarily like who I am,
But changing myself would mean
I wouldn't know who to hate anymore.
Like they say better the devil you know than
The devil you don't.
I'm not about to change myself.
If you don't care for my company, I don't mind.
Beat it! I've grown used to it.
Do I sound heartless? Maybe I do, but do not
be fooled for heartless is something I am not.
I'm merely accustomed to other people
Disliking me no matter what, or who I am. Or try to be.
I will not change.
I'll go on dreaming and expressing my opinions,
the way I always have.
I will not hold back.
That would destroy my own self. The very core that is me.
That would destroy my happiness. What I have left.
I will not give up who I am. It's all I have left. Me.
Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
Me.
