"Wenona, I said no. You know daddy doesn't approve." Kathryn scolded her daughter, who at the age of six was as stubborn as they come.
"I won't tell him if you won't!" Wenona pleaded.
Kathryn gazed at her eldest daughter. Looking into her daughter's sky-blue eyes that shone with intelligence Kathryn had a hard time to remember why she should deny Wenona anything.
"Just one. And you'll brush your teeth afterwards. There will be hell to pay if we get caught."
"Okay, mommy," she said, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
With that Kathryn poured her a cup of coffee.
