| TERRY BROOKS--okay, I don't actually like his books that much. In fact, I think his The Sword of Shannara borders on copyright infringement. But my brother really likes them, so I'm keeping an open mind in this case. |
| Harry Potter: another good fantasy series. Enjoyable for all ages. |
| Sherlock Holmes: there's the original Conan Doyle classics, or all the movies, parodies, and pastiches that have come since. The best by far is Laurie R. King's Mary Russell series, starting with The Beekeeper's Apprentice. (website here). |
