Guinea Pig Racings Faster Car
10 second Chevy powered Zephyr
The car is a 1966 Mk3 Zephyr 6, bought way back in 1991 with the idea of fitting an american V8, the wasn't in the best of conditions when it was aquired, heres an idea
.
There was alot of repair work that needing doing before the modifying could begin, the strut tops, floor pans, boot floor, inner wings had all pretty much rusted away.
Originally the car was fitted with an AMC V8, 390 cu.in.,
but due to the expense and lack of tuning parts for this engine it was binned for a chevrolet 400 cu.in small block.
It has been in various states of tune in the guise, originally the engine had factory heads,"fuelie", mild camshaft and dual-plane inlet manifold. Now the car is way futher along the tuning scale, in 2004 the engine was rebuilt after using synthetic oil caused a spun main bearing. This time it was re-built using a dart little-m block, due to its extra bracing giving it more strength and a better oiling system. The engine now has a large single plane inlet manifold, an Edlebrock Super Victor, alluminum Dart Pro-1 cylinder heads, a quite far out there camshafts, and some more goodies, more info in the Spec sheet
