Owl Finches
The Owl Finch is one of the sweetest and smallest of the finches.As agile flyers and climbers, they are a delight to watch.They appreciate a densly planted aviary or cage decorated with artifical vines/grasses or real plants (approved for birds), like ivy. In addition to a Basic Diet they seem to really enjoy their mini meal worms. They are sensitive to the cold and need an even temps between 68-70 degrees F.Gentle in their nature, Owl Finches are compatable with most all other finches.

The Shaft-tail or Long-tailed Grass Finch is the clown of the finch world.From bobbing their heads as they take off and land, to turning their heads upside down to look at you, they all full of funny antics.The male has the most delightfull 3-4 note, asending song that greets me each morning.When he sings, his black bib puffs out and he seems proud.The most elegant of all finches,The Shaft-tail is a very handsome, velvet like bird.In addition to the Basic Diet, they enjoy mealworms daily.With a larger beak,they eat regular mealworms with ease.One of the larger finches,they have a good nature and can be housed with many other finches.
