Well, we've been busy, busy, busy the past two weeks.  Kaylyn has FINALLY decided that she wants to use the potty (about 24 hours before Mommy was ready to throw in the towel from frustration!)  We had hit the training hard to past two weeks with absolutely NO luck.  (Lots and lots of laundry)  I think the turning point was Monday night when we were out at the air force base watching Zach's baseball game---she and jake were playing with Jackson on a big gravel pit and she went potty all over everything.  Jackson blurted out---"that's the most disgusting thing I have ever seen!" (It might have also been my friend Patti's suggestion to take away her favorite thing unless she sat on the potty---we didnt' let Kaylyn watch Teletubbies or Dora unless she was sitting on the potty!) The next day, Kaylyn started using the potty and hasn't had an accident since!  YEA!!!!!  She gotten lots of gum as a reward and even a few special "potty" toys!

Kaylyn other big news with week was a new haircut.  It was getting to be too much trouble to comb her hair in the morning---fighting with Mommy--so Auntie Nae took Kaylyn to the mall for a haircut this past Monday.  She got a cute little bob haircut---we had to look in the mirror when she got back so she could tell me how pretty she was!  She also came home with a Cinderella polly pocket that she really enjoys.  The only thing she doesn't enjoy about her haircut is that she can't put a ponytail in her hair when she wears a baseball cap!!!!

Kaylyn celebrated her 4th birthday at G and G Mac's in on June 5th with cake and presents and a special spaghetti dinner.  Ever since that day we have heard, "Happy birthday Kaylyn 4" at least 3 times a day---whenever she hears the number four, sees the number 4, or has a random thought about 4 it makes her think of her age.  it's hilarious!!!   She was laying in bed with Mommy the other night and looking through some of mommy books.  She say "Chapter 4" and started screaming, "Kaylyn happy birthday 4".  Then had to turn pages until she found, "Max Happy Birthday 3."

We had the Johnson summer birthday party with the kids yesterday at North Hill Bowl.  It was a blast!  All the kids had fun----Jackson, Jake, Kaylyn, and Max all have summer birthdays so they each got a snake birthday cake that Auntie Renae made and all the pop they could drink--not too much because they were too busy bowling!  They all got birthday presents too---Kaylyn is really starting to get into Polly Pockets and got a cool new carrying case that has gone EVERYWHERE with us!  It holds polly pockets, snacks, notepad and crayons, wipes, everything we need when we are out!

Kaylyn continues to LOVE the zoo.  We try to go at least once per week.  Her new favorite animal is the pink flamingo.  We took Grammy there yesterday and really giggled at the monkeys.  There was a boy monkey and a girl monkey---they boy was checking over the female for ticks and then started cleaning out her ears---first with his fingers and then with his tongue---YUCK!  We made a stop at the gift shop for a t-shirt and a new zoo domino game.  When we got out to the car we discovered a flat tire----Uncle Ben to the rescue---what an adventure!

Kaylyn and Mommy took a trip to Max's new house in Rolla.  It was a fun weekend of playing, playing, and more playing!  The kids played on the swingset for hours.  Kaylyn enjoys swinging so much and can get herself going so high--she has such strong legs and arms.  She was trying to show Max how to swing on her tummy and ran her forehead SMACK into the metal pole.  She was SOOOO mad that she rolled around and cried for several minutes---no one could console her.  She ended up being OK with just a little bruise!

Kaylyn has also been enjoying going to watch movies at the theater this summer.  We went to "Kung Fu Panda" on July 4th with Ben and Renae and family.  Kaylyn liked the movie but wanted to be by Jake, meaning she spent most of the movie on Auntie Nae's lap.  Grammy, Auntie Alysa, Mommy, max's other grandma, Margaret, and Kaylyn went to see Mama Mia this weekend.  It was a funny movie---Kaylyn loves movies with dancing and music!

We are planning for a trip to G and G Mac's house July 26-30.  Kaylyn is going to spend a few days there while we visit Todd and Abby in Minneapolis.

That's all the news for now!!  Hope all is well with everyone out there!
