It has been almost 2 months since our last update--I am going to go through Kaylyn's communication notebook from school and pick out some important events:

In March,
Kaylyn and Mommy had a wonderful Spring Break vacation from school.  We spent lots of time playing Candyland, putting together puzzles, and taking naps.  We also spent some time with Auntie Renae, Zach, Jackson and Jake.  Kaylyn got a haircut and enjoyed pizza and shopping.  She has become quite the shopper!  She always ask," Shopping please!!"  She likes to walk and hold Mommy or Daddy's hand so she can put things in the cart.  She is pretty good about only putting in what we ask her too--she still asks for quite a few things while shopping!  We also spent a lot of time watching basketball on TV with the State girls and boys basketball tournaments on.

We drove to Bottineau in early March for a friend's wedding.  On the way, we ran into some ice and managed to end up in the ditch, after hitting an approach.  Everyone was fine, in fact, Kaylyn slept through most of the accident.  Her car seat didn't move an inch.  She was upset though when we had to switch into Gramps' vehicle---he happened to be behind us, thankfully and stopped to pick us up.  Bad news for the mini-van again--in the shop for a few weeks getting repaired.  Kaylyn was excited with our rental vehicle---a 2008 Grand Prix----Mommy was sad to get the van back!  We did have a good time at the wedding and visiting Grammy, gramps, Auntie Alysa, and Max.

Daddy has started track practice now so is busy once again.  He also will begin a part-time job at Scheel's to keep him busy this summer.  He is excited for the work but I am afraid he will spend all of his hard earned money there !!!

Kaylyn did decide that 101 Dalmations (she refers to it as 'puppies') was a great movie and it seemed to have replaced Shrek as her daily wind down from school movie---however after a few short weeks, we are back to rotating between Shrek and Shrek the Third.  (Good thing they are both good movies because we have almost every line memorized!)

Kaylyn has had quite the time at school lately!  She comes home with such fun projects.  She is still signing a little bit but talking more and more everyday!  here are some highlights from school:
**lots and lots of Easter projects--her favorite was her bunny she finger painted with chocolate pudding.  She puts it on a magnet on the fridge and says, "bunny upside down" then she does a somersault!
**She seems to have mastered the Bunny hop, frog jump, and gallop.  She is constantly on the move--hardly walking anymore since she has learned these fun new things!
**She is writing the letter K and recognizes all her numbers through 10 and most of the alphabet.  She is also counting to 20.
We are so proud of her and ALL her accomplishments!  I fear she may get bored at home with mommy all summer long!

Kaylyn has spent some time at school with Mommy for different events.  We were up at school for a PTA FUn night--Dance, Dance Revolution.  If you haven't seen it before, it is a mat that you dance on while music plays.  There is a display that tells you where to step for each beat.  Kaylyn LOVED it!  She made friends fast and followed them around.  When mommy tried to dance on her mat with her, she would push me right off and do it all by herself.  Daddy and kaylyn also came to mommy's fun night.  K loved Bingo--imagine that!!

Kaylyn has also decided she is ready to pick out her own outfits in the morning.  Every morning she picks out a pair of sweatpants, a white t-shirt, and a vikings jersey along with pink socks.  I had to send a message to her teachers to apologize for her wardrobe but figure if she wants to dress herself, I will let her!  She never wants her hair fixed either.  I usually end up tackling her to get her hair combed but she always asks Ronda (her daycare provider) to fix her hair after she gets off the bus!

March also brought the "March for Babies" event.  We raised close to $1600 as a team.  The walk was so much fun!  There were more walkers than usual at the Minot site so Kaylyn wanted to be held most of the walk.  After the walk was over, she and Max played and played with balloons!   Because we raised over $1200, we won a bike.  We just picked it up from KMart and put a seat on the back for Kaylyn.  Because it has been so chilly we haven't had the chance to test it out yet!  When we went to K-Mart--Kaylyn yelled, "K-K" when she saw the Big K sign--she picks out the letter K everywhere!!

Kaylyn and Mommy have been really into "Dancing with the Stars" this spring as deaf actress Marlee Matlin was one of the dancers.  She was voted out last week but did an amazing job!  It is so inspiring to see successful adults with obstacles they have overcome!

Kaylyn got new ear molds a couple of weeks ago and they are WILD.  They are pink, purple, and white tye-dye.  She also has blue aids right now as her pink aids are in the shop getting fixed.  She LOVES them!

We had planned to travel to Wahpeton for Easter but plans changed so kaylyn and Mommy spent a night in Bottineau while Daddy was home with the flu.  Kaylyn had a great time at Gramps' gym at the college playing basketball and hunting for eggs.  Jackson and Kaylyn played a "pretend" game of 1-on-1.  Jackson is so good to her!!  On Easter day, Daddy sang at church and then we had a wonderful meal!  We spent the afternoon with friends Patti and Nate and their families at a birthday party and then went bowling with Kelly's family.  Kaylyn LOVED bowling!  She was such a ham---the little bowling shoes are so cute too!  She was also using a 6 pound ball!  AMAZING!  She almost beat Mommy!

We have been spending lots of time outside when weather permits.  Kaylyn loves to walk over to the park and play on every piece of equipment.  She really likes the tunnel slide.  I sit on the bottom and yell up the slide, "Are you coming?'' She yells back, "I am coming! " and then says "Boo!" when she gets to the bottom!!  She is also becoming quite the baseball player!

Max was here with Auntie Alysa last weekend and the kids had a blast together!  We ventured out the Splashdown, the waterpark at the mall.  Kaylyn LOVED it!  The slides went really fast!  There was also a little kiddy park with 2 slides.  What a fun day!

Probably my favorite story from the past few days---We were all at the college this past Wednesday for a parent panel presentation for an oral education class.  When we got home, I unbuckled Kaylyn from her car seat and she climbed into the front seat---she pulled down the visor, opened the mirror, looked at both sides of her face and said, "I'm Pretty!!!"  I hope she stays that way forever!!
