What a busy week this past week was for Kaylyn.  We are trying to form some kind of schedule and Kaylyn has been a trooper with adjusting but still is very out of sorts---not much sleep for ANY of us lately!

Mommy had her first official back-to-work activities this week.  Kaylyn spent some time on Monday with Renae and the boys---she always has a blast with them!  Mommy had a luncheon to meet all the staff members at Longfellow school.  It was so nice to meet everyone before the school year begins.  Kaylyn and Jake are developing quite a relationship.  They walk around holding hands one minute and then pushing each other the next!!  They BIG boys are a special treat for Kaylyn.  Zach and Jackson are so good to her and really try to play with her when she is with them!

Tuesday brought Kaylyn's first day at daycare---she sure gave mom the guilt trip when I dropped her off but had a wonderful day!  She had the chance to visit Oak Park for close to two hours and even got to eat Burger King on the way back to daycare. Our new daycare is an at-home daycare.  Kaylyn's new provider is Ronda.  She has a daughter, Emma, who will be 2 years old soon.  They have fun together and play beauty shop every day.  Kaylyn always has pretty hair when I pick her up!  She spent all week at Ronda's and had a wonderful time!  We are really, really happy with Ronda!

Auntie Alysa was also her to spend the night Monday and Tuesday night as she attended tech camp in Minot.  Of course, that meant Mommy and Daddy did not exist for a few days to Kaylyn.  Everything was Auntie, Auntie, Auntie!!!  We tried to shop at the mall and that didn't go so well as Kaylyn was done after about an hour.  Mommy and Kaylyn sat in the car while Auntie finished her shopping.  We did have a fun stop at JCPenney while at the mall and visited with some of the people Mommy used to work with.  They always enjoy seeing Kaylyn!

On Thursday Kaylyn had her first visit to a new audiologist, Dr. Kaiser.  She is the audiologist we will see to work on her FM system for school.  We needed to go in and make sure that it was compatiable with Kaylyn's hearing aids.  Cory and I also got a chance to listen to the different settings---what a neat, neat piece of technology.  While visiting Dr. Kaiser, Kaylyn had her first test in the sound booth.  We have been in Dr. Klein's sound booth but have never tested Kaylyn's hearing that way.  Kaylyn enjoyed it very much.  We only had her attention for about 10 minutes so will go back on September 6th to do a little more.  It always amazes me how big of a "star" Kaylyn is in the hearing world.  All the doctors at the office knew Kaylyn and stopped in to say hi while we were there.

Friday was our last work day with week.  Kaylyn did not want to get up in the morning so I hauled her to daycare in her PJ's.  She sure did cry when I left but had another fun day.  We spent the whole evening at home enjoying spending a few hours together as a family.  It was fun to just sit and visit with Daddy as he has been gone so much lately with football!

Last night I visited with Kaylyn's teacher on the phone.  We are very excited for the school year to start.  We got her school supply list and filled up her Elmo backpack so she is ready for visitation day on wednesday.  Mommy's principal gave her to OK to sneek out a little early so we can go---Daddy won't be able to as he starts school on Tuesday.  Mrs. Ferris told me that Kaylyn will have 4 classmates, 2 boys and 2 girls.  She will ride the bus on the first day of school as Mommy and Daddy will both have to be at work---that will be very tough on us.  Auntie Kelly's mom, Betty has agreed to take Kaylyn in the morning so the bus can pick her up there (only 3 blocks from our house.)  I know that Betty will take lots and lots of pictures so we'll try to update after her first day!

Kaylyn has been addicted to the movie Shrek since the move.  She watches the movie several times a day, so much that the DVD has begun to skip.  On Monday night Mommy had to bring it to bed so Kaylyn would stay in the bed and we could get a little bit of sleep.  She watched it until the battery in the portable DVD played died, said "All done," closed to lid and went to sleep.  It was 1:00 in the morning!!!!  Last night was a little better at 10:30.  We'll see how school will affect her sleep schedule---we are hoping it will tire her out!

Kaylyn has also begun talking like you wouldn't believe!  Last night she told Daddy that he had to play with her because, "Mommy said so!"  It was so funny!!

Hope all is well with everyone!!!  Thanks for checking on Kaylyn!
