First, Joey Yung makes short hair look so cool.

Joey Yung is my fave Chinese singer. She's got this really neat voice - especially when she sings in Mandarin. She even makes Cantonese sound really good (I didn't use to like Cantonese songs that much)! I like her better than the Twins, although the Twins are cool, too.

I think it's cool the way Joey seems to always have a cheerful disposition - in pictures, in interviews, and even in movies, her personality seems to come through (even when it's not suppose to).

Xie Xie ni Ai Wo (Thank You for Loving Me)

A great ballad, and shows how easily her voice can slip into R&B, which is something she does better than Kelly Chen!

Bu Rong Cuo Shi (a.k.a. "The Bomb Queen", a.k.a. "Grand Appearance")

Sometimes also titled "Joey," or "Grand Arrival." So, I call this song "Joey, the Bomb Queen's Grand Arrival." ^_^ She must use this song as an opening for her concerts, I would guess. It's a great dance song!

There are other songs of hers that I like, but I'm not sure the exact titles. These are the names of the songs that pop up on AudioGalaxy - some I know are inputed in Chinese letters, and so pop up as random English letters (These are actually not her more famous songs):

1. Numb - one of my faves. She sings accompanied by a guitar.
2. Butterfly Among Flowers - a haunting song. Sounds like something Bobo Chan would sing. It's very pretty.
3. G - lol, I think it also pops up as "Tell Me" or something. She sings "Tell me, tell me, won't you tell me" in the end. Those are the only English words, so I can't describe it any better.
4. R-W - also "Dreaded Fate." Another dance song.
5. Mei Chi (Rush Hour Mix) - Remake of "Crush," in Chinese! Search for "Joey Yung, Rush Hour" for the Rush Hour version.

I first saw her in the Nic Tse/Stephen Fung movie "My Schoolmate, the Barbarian," and I thought she was the funniest thing in that movie! She does get a lot of flack on her not-so-great acting ability. Someone actually said that Joey Yung's acting was so ridiculously bad, but the movie was so ridiculous in ever aspect, that she fit right in - and she was ridiculously funny! You've got to admit, she was funny. Personally, I thought she was great! I didn't know that she was a famous HK singer until a good while after I saw this movie.

geeky Joey with glasses and retainerJoey and Stephen Fung on a motorbikeJoey trying to convince Stephen Fung not to fightJoey shows her fighting skills ^_^

In the movie Joey plays Phoenix, an annoying, geeky girl who has a huge crush on Edward (Stephen Fung). As the movie progresses, she loses the glasses and retainer for no apparent reason, so she's actually only "geeky" in the early part of the movie.

I may talk about Nic Tse & Stephen Fung a lot, but actually my fave Hong Kong actor is the star of Gen-Y Cops - Edison! So, oooooh, it looks like it might be Edison next. Maybe ^_^
