WELCOME TO MY "ADOPT A SHELTER PET" &
"STOP ANIMAL ABUSE" PAGE
Every dog and cat deserves to have a warm, dry, safe place to live, and each one deserves to have enough food and fresh water every day.  All good shelters provide these basics. But, only a good home can provide the daily love and affection that these dogs and cats long for. In addition, many, too many, shelters do not provide these basics, and are only places to await a certain death.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals estimates that nearly 13,000 homeless dogs and cats are entering animal shelters across the United States every day.
In a year-long study conducted by the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy, five reasons consistently emerged as to why pet owners gave up their dogs and cats:
     *moving
     *landlord not allowing pets
     *too many animals in household
     *cost of pet maintenance
     *owner having personal problems
     *inadequate facilities
Everyone who is considering getting a new pet should make sure they are capable of providing food and water, a safe place to sleep, healthcare, training, and just as importantly, the love and affection all pets deserve.

  8.  Dog kisses make the best alarm clock.
  7.  When you return home, your dog will greet you as if you're the best thing that has happened to them all day.
   6.  Having a dog can help teach your children respect for and kindness  towards animals.
   5.  You'll always have a best friend and a sympathetic ear. Dogs are great listeners, and are always there when you need them.
