Household and garden plants are often a cause of poisoning in children. Very young children
are often attracted to bright and shiny attract flowers and leaves. Some of the symptons of
ingesting toxic plant may be abdominal problems such as cramping, vomiting, and diarrhea;
breathing difficulty, convulsions, irregular heartbeat, convulsions; irritation of mucous
membranes in mouth and throad and alergic reactions. If you suspect your child has
ingested a poisionious plant the call your physician immdiately or the poison control
center (1-800-256-9822). Below is a list of common poisonious plants in the home and garden.
