Versatile actor Kay Kay Menon who plays the daredevil, honest, lovable character of the Pradhan Mantri in the Zee serial directed by Ketan Mehta is all set to defy his positive telly image. In Paanch, produced by Tutu Sharma, audiences will see him in the negative role of a villain. “Yes, I play a singer-guitarist in a rock group called Parasite, but also the bloodsucking devil,” laughs Menon who is enjoying his stint as the nation’s most powerful man, on-screen that is. “Why should age and appearance be a constraint? It’s the calibre and performance that counts,” argues Kay Kay, who is accused of being too young and slim defying the conventional ‘PM’ image. He is also acting in Hansal Mehta’s Chhal (deception), where the police plant him as an undercover informer with an underworld gang. “In the course of my close encounter with the underworld, my character gets so involved that he ultimately finds himself entangled in his own web,” says the actor.
