Dark Lover Sonnet #1, 2, & 3

The following sonnets are perhaps my favorite poetry I have written. They are written in iambic pentameter, in the style of a Shakespearian sonnet (as far as rhyme scheme is concerned). The first one, Dark Lover Sonnet #1, is my absolute favorite:) It has also been published and praised by The International Library of Poetry. The other two are a slightly different style, but still carry the same theme:) I hope I write more to go w/ these three:)

Dark Lover Sonnet #1

To see through your eyes, this I wish my love.
Are your compassion and love to me true?
You whose eyes shine like midnight sky above,
Filled with such emotion in their dark hue.

In my dark garden, with mists from the sea,
I meet you at night, where no one can tell.
I adore you with evry part of me.
Sweet promises made by the ocean swell.

You are my rescuer, my fierce dark knight.
You are the prince, I am the fair maiden,
You hide in shadow, I stand in moonlight.
I the white dove, and you the black raven.

I run from you, yet I need your embrace.
Your soft kiss as delicate as fine lace.

Dark Lover Sonnet #2

In the nighttime forest I run from you
my heart is so loud I can hear each beat.
I know you want me, and I want you too
but, alas, my heart cannot control my feet.

Then you catch me, I scream into the night.
You whisper, "I love you" into my ear.
I struggle, but then let you hold me tight.
My love for you is always mixed with fear.

We stand together, your arms around me.
I want to run, and yet I want to stay.
As I meet your gaze, your arms set me free
We love each other dearly in our way.

Your face bends to mine and I wouldn't miss
this quiet moment as I return your kiss.

Dark Lover Sonnet #3

I stand alone in the warm summer's night
I anxiously wait, where are you my love?
I know you can find me, you need no light.
but yet the silvery moon shines above.

My long hair blows softly in the breeze,
my flowing indigo dress trails the ground.
You must not delay, come to me please!
I am pacing restlessly, round and round.

Then, a hand sweetly caresses my hair.
I gasp in surprise at the sudden touch.
With a quick spin around I find you there.
You smile at me, "You worry too much."

"But if you only knew what I would do,
were I to be left alone without you."
