THANKSGIVING DAY THOUGHTS
What destiny dictates, we can not control,
So we look to the top of the totem pole.
To the power which stands above the ranks,
It's to He we stand and give our thanks.
Yet do we give thanks genuinely?
Or use the occasion to beg of thee.
Help us, guide us, show us the way,
Grant us our wants and wishes I pray.
Destinies written by celestial hand,
We beg to differ, to change life's plan?
Listen to the words, is it thanks we say?
Or ask that life be done our way.
Hear the words of my Thanksgiving scroll,
As I peer to the top of the totem pole.
Hear my voice above the ranks,
As genuinely I give my thanks.
I give my thanks for life itself.
I'll not beg for health or wealth.
What ever life holds in store for me,
I'm thankful that I'm allowed to be.
