The next day...
::Duo wakes up in a room that's not his- but he isn't surprised. he crawls out of bed and feels a slight pain in his right leg. he walks out of the room into the hall. Quatre and Trowa are already downstairs making breakfast, smells VERY good. Duo smells the food and follows the scent to the kitchen::
Quatre: ::Looks:: oh hello Duo are you feeling any better?
Duo: yeah! ::grabs a plate and starts piling food on it::
Trowa: how's the leg?
Duo: huh? ::looks at leg:: oh that? it's fine.
Wufei: *thinks* this food...this food! THIS FOOD HAS-SO MUCH INTEGRETY!!!::scarfs::
Duo: ::muttering:: i wonder what did he do last night? wait, I don't even want to know.
Wufei: what are you looking at baka? ::happily scarf's food
::Duo shrugs and eats,Trowa and Quatre sit down everyone is happily eating except...::
Quatre: hey where's Heero?
Duo: ::mouth full of food:: I don't know. why would I?
Quatre: I didn't ask you directly sheesh! someone should go check on him though... hmm I guess I will. I'll bring him some food that way he can continue with whatever he's doing.
Duo: 'kay.
::Quatre walks up with Heero's food::
Quatre: ::knocks on Heero's door:: Heero I brought you some breakfast!
Heero: thank you...hey Quatre can you do me a favor?
Quatre: sure what is it you want heero?
Heero: Can you tell Duo to come up here for a sec?
Quatre: sure! ::Quatre goes downstairs and tells Duo that Heero wants to see him::
Duo: huh? what for?:: eating the last of his bacon::
Quatre: I dunno. He said he wants you to go up there.
Duo: ::shrugs:: okay.
::walks out of the kitchen and to Heero's room. the door's open so he goes right in, heero is typing on his computer, takes a bit of bacon, doesn't notice Duo's there,Duo leans against a wall and clears his throat::
Heero: oh good your here. have a seat...
Duo: okie dokie! ::sees a roll-around chair and sits in it with the chair back in front of him.. he spins...:: WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Heero: don't you ever get tired of doing that?
Duo: NOPE!! Quatre said you wanted to see me?
Heero: sigh... listen Duo, we just got another mission... and, and this will be my final mission before they let me go... I just wanted to let you know that-
Duo: Before the let you go?!? ::shocked/confused::
Heero: your the closest thing I've ever had to a friend... th-thank you duo ::sheds tear::
Duo: Why? You're the perfect soldier. Why do they want you to leave?
Heero: they said I was becoming to emotional, so they decided to let me go. This will be our last mission together... I fixed all the Gundams we'll set out early to attack the OZ marina base.
::Duo stares at Heero in shock. He thinks of all the times that Heero nearly killed him and vice versa.::
Duo: too emotional?!? in that case, I'm surprised I'm still here!
Heero: you'd better go, your breakfast could get cold if you stay here too long ::sad chuckle::
Duo: I already ate- Why are you leaving?
Heero: they say I must... for the good of everyone...
Duo: What in the world do they mean by that?!? those shimatta bakas!
Heero: hmm... ::computer beeps.:: oh god... they're moving out early! We got to leave now- tell the others!
Duo: WHAT?!?! ::runs after Heero out to the Gundams::

Later, on the battlefield...
Heero: There are...soo many!! ::he looks around, seeing 1,000 more Oz Leos, 90 flight-capable mobile dolls, and thousands of manned gun placements. To his right, the Gundam Heavy Arms was almost out of ammunition, and the other three Gundams were surrounded::
Duo: ::speaking through grinding teeth:: well they didn't come unprepared!
voice can be heard coming from one of the Aires.. it was lady Une!!!::
Lady Une: surrender your gundams or i'll destroy you and the colonies!! BWAHAHAHA!!!
(Shinigami Liss: ummmmmmm..... Ryoko?)
(Ryoko: Yeeeesss?)
(Shinigami Liss: Une's voice is coming from a Aries that doesn't exist... )
(Ryoko: Ummmmm..... errrrrrr..... I meant to do that!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!)

Heero: :: to duo:: Get the others out of here! I'm going into the strong hold... sayonara..duo... ::flies to the center of the base::
Duo: NOOOOOO!!!!!!! What are you doing?!
Heero: Stay back baka...::stops in the center of the base:: Duo get your ass out of here! I got enough explosives in Wing to blow up the moon!
Duo: ::double-takes, not sure what to do, turns and looks at the others- who were still fighting:: you'll kill all of us if set them off!!!
Heero: I told them and you to leave now. DO IT!!! Baka! BAKA! BAKA! don't you get it?? didn't you know what I meant when I said this was my last mission! that they were letting me go?? I'm not the perfect soldier like I was meant to be so now... I'm Useless!!!!! ::hits the self-detonate button gives them 1 minute to leave::
Duo: HEERO!! BAKA YO! get out of there now!
Heero: ::crying:: leave duo...the guards are coming...You and the others have your own destinies....and I accept mine...
The 1 minute was up a bright light is seen from inside wing zero, it as detinating...::
Duo: NOOO!!! ::Sandrock pulls Deathscythe out of the way of the blast::
::BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM::
Duo: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ::starts to cry in choked sobs::
::Heero is thrown from wing zero... blood splattering everywhere, he loses the light in his eyes and he lands several yards away... duo easily spots him...::
Duo: Heero! ::the Deathscythe pulls free from Sandrock's grip and runs over to the area where Heero fell. duo made sure to stop 100 meters away from where Heero was. duo exits his suit and runs to Heero::
Heero: ::bleeding profusely:: du...ohhhhh...::cough::
Duo: Heero! Heero, buddy! you're alive. ::starts crying over Heero::
Heero: not...for long...my last mission's over...no more need for me in this life...::bloody cough::
Duo: what are you talking about?!? of course there's a need for you in this world!
::all the other Gundam pilots are nearby and are jogging over to the two::
Quatre:OH NO HEERO!!! ::Heero's zoning out::
Trowa: let's get him to a hospital, there's still a little time
Duo: right! ::picks Heero up like Heero did for him the day before and runs over to where Trowa was, seening as they were near the clinic of the base they were able to get a van and drive him to a local hospital::
Heero: du duo ahhhhhh... ::grabs duo's hand and squeezes it:: good friend..... ::passes out::

Later on...::Heero wakes up in the hospital in fare condition with all of his friends sitting by his side.::
Duo: hey! he woke up.
Quatre: oh Heero are you okay! we were so worried!
Duo: ya'd think it'd hurt. he only self-detonated.
Trowa: yeah, we thought you died. Wufei cried! I saw!::nudges Wu Fei::
Duo: yeah, can you believe it?
Wufei: I DID NO SUCH THING ::embarrassed/angry::
Heero: you-you mean you saved me.... you wanted to?
Duo: of course we wanted to save you. you are the perfect soldier. :smirk::
Heero: after all the times I threatened to kill you? but they-they said... ::cough::
Duo: they said what, that you can't be a mere mortal human being?
Heero: hmm ::smile:: thank you Duo, thank you everyone.... but what do I do from here? I have no purpose any more...
::all are confused::
Quatre: sure you do Heero! you'll figure it out sooner or later! Well, I- look at the time! Trowa and me got a... um...dentist appointment! Yeah, that's it! Let's go Trowa... ::Quatre pulls Trowa out of the room::
Wufei: I'll leave as well...get better Yuy! ::Wufei leaves leaving Duo and Heero alone::
Duo: what were you thinking?! trying to kill yourself over something that would have taken us only a little more time to finish?
Heero: I had my orders.... from dr. J himself
Duo: to ... die?
Heero: yes-no...but I knew that was what he wanted.
Duo: why? why would he want to have you killed? there's no reason.
Heero: I don't know... maybe it what I wanted instead... I wont lie to you duo...I'm jealous of you and the others...
Duo: what?! you're jealous?! jealous of what?
Heero: how you all can express, how you feel so easily, how you don't have a care in the world....how how you can cry, and love, I was never allowed to experience such joy. often I wondered what it would be like to play with the other children when I was little, but training was my life they said. "You belong to us, we say weather you live or die, if I say jump you say how high!" that was my life's code
Duo: ::muttering:: wu-wu never does any of that, or Trowa. ::speaking normal:: I don't know about the others, but my life hasn't been all fun and games. I was a street thief and homeless- believe me, It's no fun at all.
Heero: hmmmmm...but you all had one thing I didn't ....choice, but enough of that I guess...what now?
Duo: well,... to put it in your words... ::smile:: ... 'you have to rest'
Heero: hmmmm. that would be nice... ::grabs duo's hand, squeezes gently:: friends?
Duo: friends. ::nods his head:: get some sleep. I'll be back later.
::leaves- and is surprised to see a wide smile on Heero's face::
