"Commander Deisana?" The black-hared woman turned from the consul at the sound of her name.

"Yes Lieutenant Eko?" Lieutenant Eko cringed as he received the attention of the bane of all OZ officers. He had once worked for Commander Une and that woman paled in comparison to the ruthlessness of Commander Victoria Deisana. Deisana appeared much stricter and crueler than Commander Une as well. With her black, bangless hair put in a braid that was wrapped around her head and an destructive look in her eyes, the woman looked menacing enough to scare her underlings senseless as well as their enemies.

"The damage report from the battle at the new base just came in." Eko told her, handing her the hard copy report. "It seems that the five Gundams nearly destroyed the above ground base. Yet, we were able to capture the pilot of Gundam 01."

"The pilot of Gundam 01? HmmmHe could give us useful information about the other pilots and if nothing else, a good pilot for our use once hes properly brainwashed" The commander mused.

"Hes currently in transit to this base, would you like to be notified when the prisoner arrives?" Eko asked.

"Yes. Also prepare a 5 ft. x 4 ft. solitary confinement cell for him after I talk with him." The unsaid emphasis on talk showed that unless this pilot, which Eko had heard was no more than a 15 year old boy, was made out of gundanium, he would be broken and brainwashed soon after arriving. "Yes Commander."

"Captain Noku? There is an unidentified flying object approaching us from behind." The cadet pilot of one of the Aires that was transporting the pilot of 01 told his superior.

"Well, lets see what it is, shall we?" the Captain said. The leading Aries turned around to face its currently unknown advisory. //What is it? Another Gundam?// Captain Noku thought.

"What the?!?!? Its a human, with wings!" Cadet Lerin said with shock. Quickly approaching them was a shadowy figure with large bat-like wings that seemed bent on stealing away the important parcel they carried. "Captain, let me deal with this!" Lerin said.

"Very well."

The Cadet started with an automatic riffle aimed at the being. The bullets showered the creature and hit its wings and chest, causing it to fall.

"All right!" the cadet shouted with joy, but then choked on his own victory words when he saw the figure rising again. "What the Hell?!?! It regenerated!! What kind of Hell-sent monster is this?!?!"

The figure came closer, and the two pilots that were fighting it saw that it was merely a boy. Yet, the Captain was no idiot.

"Cadets Ardin and Fen, take the prisoner to the base immediately. Commander Deisana is expecting him. Cadet Lerin will help me take care of this problem."

"Yes sir!" voiced the two Cadets simultaneously and then left with their cargo. The creature tried to go after Ardin and Fen, but Lerin fired on it again. The creature dodged all the bullets and charged Lerin, seemingly weaponless.

"BAKAAA!!!" Lerin shouted at the creature charging him. As Lerin said this, two heat-guided missiles were sent out at the monster. "Try to get away from *THEM*!!!" the cadet yelled in a deranged type of laughter.

The creature smiled. Not a happy smile, nor a maniacal smile. No, this was the type of smile that knew that he was better than his opponents and neednt do anything other than let them destroy themselves.

When the missiles neared the winged-boy, they didnt hit him and explode. Instead, they circled around him and aimed back at Cadet Lerin.

"What the!?!" Those were that last words that Cadet Lerin ever said. The missiles hit the torso of his Aries and exploded. The wounded mecha, rendered flightless, fell toward the ground in a metal crunching fashion.

Captain Noku was not happy to say the least. He first fired an automatic riffle at the beast, followed by regular missiles with fixed targets. The bullets grazed the wings and distracted the demon to the point where the missiles hit it. It fell again but managed to keep from falling anymore than it had.

//If you think Im letting you get off easy, youre wrong.// Captain Noku swore. He leveled his Aires to meet the beast and started to attack it again. Captain Noku took his energy riffle, set it on high power, and fired it directly where the heart would be if it was human.

The creature blanched and spat up blood as it fell for the last time towards the ground. When it impacted with what wouldve been soft earth had it not been at such an altitude, bones could be heard crunching and the beast whimpered in pain.

Captain Noku, to confirm the beasts death, zoomed in the picture on his monitor. Blood was spattered everywhere, pooling around the body of the demon until the pool of blood was larger than the demon itself. Its limbs were bent in a position that would cause excruciating pain if it were conscious. Its black clothing was torn, the skin cut in countless places, and its chestnut brown braid was stained in its own lifeblood.

Satisfied with the beasts death, Captain Noku left to find Cadets Ardin and Fen.

"Commander Deisana?" Lieutenant Eko asked again. "The prisoner has arrived."

"Hmmm well, lets go see him." She said with a menacing sneer on her lips as she put down the hand-held computer. Eko could see that on its screen was a picture of the prisoner along with all other information OZ had collected on the boy from a previous capture by Lady Une.

There was a certain look in the young mans eyes that, even though the rest of his face showed no emotion, gave Eko the impression that he was lost. Although the boy was an enemy, Eko couldnt help but feel a little sympathetic toward the Gundam pilot. Forced to wage guerrilla warfare at such a young age, and then expected to not divulge information if captured surely took its toll on the boy.

Eko stepped out of the door to the landing platform behind Deisana, feeling his reddish hair swept back with the wind from the landing SUITs. There were three of them, two SUITs carrying the torso of a larger SUIT- most likely the Gundam. The Airess landed, and the cockpits opened revealing the soldiers. They crawled out from their SUITs and walked hurriedly towards Eko and Commander Deisana.

"Where is Captain Noku?" She asked the cadet that approached her.

"Captain Noku and Cadet Lerin stayed to deal with an unidentified flying object a few miles away from the JFK base, they should be back any time now, maam." Cadet Fen told her.

The commanders eyebrow rose slightly, "An unidentified flying object?" She asked.

"Yes, Maam." The cadet answered. "It seemed to be humanoid in shape but it had wings. The captain told us to take the prisoner and leave, so we did."

"I see" Deisana said, thinking about what she was just told. "I want the monitor images of this flying human from the four of you delivered on my desk no more than fifteen minutes after they arrive." They nodded in understanding. Then the two cadets ceased speaking and stood in front of the commander for a few minutes.

"You idiots! Go get the prisoner!" she barked at them for their insubordination. The two automatically ran over to the torso of the Gundam and began to open the hatch. When light flooded the darkened cell that the boy was in, he squinted a bit.

"Get out!" Cadet Ardin ordered the boy, pointing a pistol at the prisoners head. The boy complied, undoing his harness before stepping out. "Hands behind your head!" the boy did as told with no emotion shown. The boy started to walk, but his large yellow sneaker contacted with a piece of metal jutting out, causing him to trip. The boy fell, revealing a right calve that was bleeding profusely and showed an inch or so of red muscle from a cut during the battle.

"So you Gundam pilots are human after all." Laughed Ardin. "Get up, you scum!" the boy started to do so, but Ardin kicked him in the stomach, which sent the pilot reeling over the side of his Gundam. The boy fell to the ground and landed with a thud on his back, the air knocked out of him.

The cadets jumped down and walked over to where the prisoner lay. "I told you to get up. Youre a prisoner, you have to do what we say." Ardin laughed as he kicked the boy again and again till the tank top clad teen was doubled over in pain.

"Ummm Ardin, I dont think this is a good idea, the Commander is watching after all and she only told us to get him out-not to beat him." Fen remarked.

"Oh you neednt let my presence stop you, Cadet Ardin." Commander Deisana said as she and Eko approached. "In fact, I believe your aggressive attitude might help with this one I will let you continue with your exercise, once Ive talked to him." Ardin nodded, a sadistic smile spread across his face. Eko sighed. The boy was in trouble indeed. Not only did he have the ruthless Deisana against him, but he also had to survive against the sadistic bastard Ardin.

"Get up." Deisana told the boy. The boy stood after a slight hesitation, ever wary of Ardin. "So you are the pilot of Wing Gundam" Deisana mused as she walked around him, as one would look at a slave when deciding if they were worth the trouble of breaking in. She abruptly turned and headed back towards the base. Ardin pushed the teen forward with the barrel of a gun and the procession went inside.

When the door to the room Deisana had set aside for her talks closed before anyone else other than the prisoner was permitted, Eko sighed to himself. //That kid doesnt look so lost anymore Instead he looks like he lost everything he holds dear //

"That was the Unidentified Flying Object?" Deisana asked after watching the images from the Aires attacker.

"Yes, Commander." Captain Noku responded, shifting uncomfortably in his chair inside Deisanas office. As requested, the images were brought to the commander seven minutes after the Captain returned. However, the Commander was not able to see them right away because she was questioning the prisoner. Therefore, Noku sat in her office for nearly two hours before she arrived. When she came, she was deathly silent, as though she was angry at the prisoner.

"Hmmm.. It destroyed Cadet Lerin without any weapons" Deisana thought out loud to herself. "Are you sure that its dead?"

"Yes. Theres no way it couldve survived after all its blood-loss."

"Good." Deisana said with a malicious smile.

It was dark, two hours after the sun had set. The field was quiet, except for the normal forest animal noises. Scattered around the meadow were parts from a destroyed mobile SUIT, along with body parts of its pilot. In the middle of the wreckage, was an unmoving body. It was surrounded by its blood, but it showed no injuries.

"Oi! I knew there was a downside to taking on a mortals body form" the figure said with a rueful smile as it sat up and put a hand to its head. "Almost two hours of recuperation. That guy hit me pretty good."

The boy stopped and looked around him, at his blood. He let his hand droop down and cup the liquid into his hand. He never had any qualms over blood being shed, but for the first time ever, he had a reason to be afraid of another dying. In his hand, he didnt see his blood, but the blood of another that he thought would surely die if he didnt save him in time.

The boys smile faded, to be replaced by a look that combined sadness, fear, agony, and anger all in one. He let the liquid seep out of his hand and stood. He looked at the part of the sky where three Aires SUITs had retreated to nearly two hours before. He sighed and turned around and started walking.

"Hes been gone for two and a half hours! Where can he be?!" Quatre asked as he paced nervously in their new base.

"Duoll be fine, he really is Shinigami after all." Trowa said, putting a comforting hand on his koibitos shoulder.

"But still! We havent even heard anything about Heeros capture yet, and OZ loves it when they can say they caught one of us." Quatre remarked. Just as Wufei was going to say something, they heard a door open. The three readied for combat, but were relieved to find that it was their friend.

"Duo!" Quatre shouted with joy as he ran over to the boy. "We were so worried!" Wufei ground his teeth, sure that the deathscythe pilot would take the chance to tease him, saying that even he cared, but was surprised when the boy lifted his head and gasped in unison with Quatre and Trowa. The look on his face showed pure agony, there was no smile, nor frown. His eyes were completely violet with no pupils, and he carried the smell of blood, his hair drenched in it. But the most surprising of all were his wings.

They had never seen him with his wings out, other than the brief glance on the battlefield that day. What they saw astonished them. The black bat-like wings looked like a cross between velvet, silk, and leather. They held themselves in a position that showed grace, power and agility. The wings were large enough to fly, but small enough to hide under his shirt. In short, they made him look even more stunning than usual.

"D-Duo, your wings" Quatre stammered.

"Hn." The three were taken aback by Duos unwillingness to talk. Apparently Duo cared more for Heero than any of them had realized, and Heeros capture had taken its toll on him.

"Are you really Shinigami?" Wufei asked.

"I run, I hide, but I never lie." Duo said with a sad smirk.

"Why are you here?" Quatre asked.

"Eh, Even Shinigami needs a break every once in a while... At first it was because of the war. I mean, what better vacation for the God of Death than to help out in a war? But when Heero came in... I don't care who dies, everyone go to eternal life anyway... but I don't want Heero to suffer..." Duo replied without smiling.

"So then why the joyful attitude?" Trowa asked, ever on topic.

"No one thinks that a happy-go-lucky guy would ever be Shinigami. You guys certainly didnt, even though I told you."

Just then, the radio monitor blared to life. It was on a OZ controlled station, that way the pilots could tell if anything important happened.

"We have just heard that a Gundam pilot has been captured," the announcer said while an image of Heero being escorted inside an OZ base played. "the authorities will not say how he was captured, but they do say that he will be questioned by Commander Deisana." The image of the procession moved forward to focus on a woman in front of Heero. "We will have more information later."

At the end of the announcement, Duo grunted in anger. With the Heart of Space, Quatre could tell that it wasnt just that Heero was captured that bothered his friend. "What is it?"

"They beat him." Duo said while grinding his teeth. "They hadnt even gotten him in the base and they already beat him."

"How do you know?" Trowa asked.

"There was a certain look in his eyes." Duo left it at that. "Im going to take a shower." At that, Duo left them to stare at his retreating figure. Then, the radio flared again.

"While in transit, the Gundam pilot was followed by a strange beast," the announcer told its unseen audience, a picture of the beast showing on the screen. Quatre gasped when he saw the image. It showed a winged human, one with a meter long chestnut brown braid. "It attacked and destroyed a cadet. However, the beast was killed soon after by Captain Noku." This time, all three of the pilots gasped, the image showing the demon with blood everywhere around it, a large hole in its chest, and a look of incredible pain on its face. Trowa moved towards the screen and turned it off.

"So thats where he was" Quatre inferred, his hand over his heart to ease the pain from his friend that threatened to cause him to faint.
