Episode 23:
He was present in the last episode when Ceres reveals that the hagoromo is really her soul, which she calls mana, not a feathered robe.  So naturally, he's present when
Tooya returns from the dead.  We find out that Tooya was created from the original mana that was dumped in the sea by the jealous Mikage ancestor.  So, Alex putting Tooya's body out to sea was the catalyst needed to bring him back to life.  But he's just as shocked as everybody else.
He disappears when a fight breaks out between the vengeful Wei and the passive Tooya.  Meanwhile Aki is wandering the ship, wondering who's calling him.  He finds the manufactured hagoromo just as Alex finds him.  He's present when Aki combines with the mana to become the ancestor in body as well as mind.
Again, he goes on a rampage and blood has painted the walls once Kagami arrives on the scene.  Unharmed, Alex is found
weeping in the corner, whimpering that enough life has been lost for the cause of the project.
When Kagami asks what had happened, Alex, as the only surviving witness, explains how Aki combined with the hagoromo and became a different person.
Episode 24:
The final episode!
After Aya has been impaled by Aki (who's now really the ancestor), Yuuhi runs off to go and get help as Aya is dying.  Who does he find but
Kagami and Alex.  Kagami is a bit confused, but Alex somehow knew that something had happened to Aya.
They arrive just as Tooya transferred the mana from his own body to Aya's to save her, and thus
witness the appearance of the tenyo's true form and the destruction of Aki in the show's tearjerking climax.  After getting slapped by an angered Yuuhi, Kagami turns to Alex and asks him to follow to his chambers.
Kagami sits before his laptop and
hands Alex something.  Turns out to be several files describing the activities of C Project in great detail.  He implores Alex to get off of the sinking vessel (it had been damaged in the fight between Aki and Tooya) and use this information to start the project again only this time use better methods to benefit mankind since he will remain to die with the Mikage legacy.
Alex boards one of the heilocopters with the files clutched in his hands as he
sadly watches the burning ship sink with tears in his eyes.
But don't you fret minna.  Alex reappears in the novels following the series, showing that he is doing just as Kagami wished him to and helping Aya and Tooya along the way.
