| Rant for 2-1-2001 "Middleverse" and "Rouge Recruit" (spoilers) Okay, Rouge recruit was the very first episode I saw, and how it happened was quite funny. Where I live X Men comes on Sundays. Anyway, I normally set my VCR to record "Card Captor Sakura" or plain "Carp Captors", and what happens? Instead of my japanese anime I get some X Men show. Of course I am a BIG anime fan so I am a bit skeptical on American art, but I heard that Quatre Raberba Winner's (Gundam Wing) Voice Actor, Brad Swaile, voice some guy named Night Crawler. So I thought, "Okay I'll watch it once and record over it." Turns out once I see that fuzzy blue elf I fell in "love". And that's what got me hooked on it. Anyway, I am a huge critic when it comes to art quality. In "Rouge Recruit", the quality was not up to my expectations but the plot was interesting. Now the art quality in "Middleverse" was wonderful. And the fact that it was mainly about Nightie made me happier. XD. In "Rouge Recruit", Rouge runs all over the place trying to get away from Mystique posing as the X Men. Kurt tries to reason with her but she find out his true from and pushes him away with her ungloved hand, taking away his mind and power. Then there are some sweet Kuritty (Kurt/Kitty) scenes and he wakes up. I liked the episode pretty much, being my first eppie. The art quality wasn't the best but I gave it a shot. The only thing that left me hanging was Irene, Rouge's blind guardian. She confused me a bit...is she a Mutant too since she can see thoughts of Rouge in her mind? And at one point she looks down at the glove left in her hand by Rouge. How can she see it? Ah well. Right now I am DYING to see "Shadowed Past" which is about Kurt's Nightmares, but knowing WB! they wont show it for about 3 months. Well, "Middleverse" is still a pretty cool eppie. Kurt plays in lab, lab blows up, Rouge sends Kurt to another dimension, Kurt meets new friend and get back home ^_^ (just to sum it up) Anywho, the art quality is good (I loved the faces Kurt Made! XD) but the plot was lacking a smidge. I mean, okay, Forge was in Middleverse for over 20 years. How did he manage to survive that long AND manage not to go insane from complete isolation? Also, where'd he cough up those batteries all of a sudden? O.O And I would have LOVED to see the look on Darkholme's face when she saw her brand new car totally demolished! XD Speaking of which...The X Men rescued Kurt at night, Darkholme left during the day...How did she get home? O.O Heh, anyway, enough babbling from me, just a funny thought: :Shadowed Past: Mystique: Kurt...I am your mother...er...father...er...whatever I am... Kurt: VHAT? IT CANT BE! Kitty: No..No..I see a resemblance...definately a resemblance... Scott: Oh yeah...I mean after all they BOTH are blue! Kurt: ;_; You aren't helping... |
