Oh My Darlings Era...

The end of JAO 2009 season marked the regular season end of the "Tiger Darlings" era.  While the team will be together for a few tourneys in 2009, the 8th graders have already moved on to Prep league.  Oh I should mention they ended the season by beating the FOR Sol (again.. :)) and finishing up the season at 4 - 5.  With all 5 losses by 3 or less points.  Realistically, they easily should have been  6 - 3.  I say they have improved from the year before. :)

I could probably write one heck of a long blog post on the past 7 years of TD b-ball since it has been a good, no, great run for the girls.  From the first team picture in princess outfits and high heel shoes to now wondering what to wear for the FOR dance.  It's been "cool" to see them grow up in front of our eyes and see how the girls changed.

Memories - So many, I'm hoping you all could write yours in the "comments" of this blog.  My memory of Kris's first game was Coach Eric telling her to stand on the red box on the free throw lane and she did - and didn't move from the box.  Also the epic battles with Mustangs Bratz and Alisha Mah, who had mad skills at such a young age, and ironically, is a Tiger now!  Of course, Emiko just terrorizing opposing players by ripping the ball out their hands, Jodi the methodical PG, even at a young age, was careful with the ball and had a high IQ for the game.  I also remember Courtney running hard up and down the court, calling for the ball and scoring at will inside.  Kayla making her debut at the Wanjettes tourney and scoring close to double figures in only her 2nd game played.  What a pickup by.. oh me.  Erica having guard size but center skills… usually it’s the other way around.  And just to see Lauren grow as a player, heck, she had a great Wanjettes tournament this past weekend.

So I’m going to leave the rest of this blog to you guys.  Hopefully you can put in your memories by using the “comments” for this blog section.  It will be nice to see what your best memories of the Tiger Darlings..

For us, joining Tiger Darlings was a simple decisions -- the best snacks around, bar none.
A hard habit to break. The bball part? Being able to play ball 5-on-5, instead of 9-on-one. What a great group of girls to have Kayla grow up with. None better...
