No Sparks On This Date..

Game 3 vs WLA Sparks - 9/24/2006

It's early (very early) Sunday morning when the alarm goes off and I'm wondering - "What the..."  Then it hits me, the girls have the dreaded 9:00 A.M. game vs WLA Sparks.

Historically the team has never played well in the 9:00 start games and based on how well the Sparks played the girls in the Bruins tourney, I thought this game might be "trap" game.  But it does appear that this is different Tiger team..  They got "attitude" or maybe it's just hormones.. :)

I want to try to present a balanced recap but...the girls really pulled the plug on the Sparks (get it? spark - plugs.. okay I'm reaching).  The game was pretty much over mid way thru the first half.  The girl's defense caused the Sparks to fizzle and our offense to sizzle.  I know that was corny but I couldn't resist..  

In this type of game all the girls were able to contribute and have some fun (Lauren almost went coast to coast) out there.  Of course a big shout out to Kayla Dang!, I mean, Jang, for a fantastic game.  But it was a another team effort with big scoring contributions from Shelby, Emiko and Kris.  Also great physical defense from Kristen, Lauren, Jodi and good rebounding by CC and Erica (of course)..  Hey, we even gave the scoreboard operator a half off... :)  Final score was Tigers 40 - WLA Sparks 10.

Thanks to the Jangs for the snacks.  As Michelle says "How can you resist a donut?"  I couldn't..

Next up the Saberettes.  They will be a challenge with their height and their physical play.  Needless to say rebounding and fastbreaking will be the key.  This will be a good test for the girls.  Go Tiger (Woods)!  I like that name.
