Make No Mystic About It..

Game 4 in SBY had the Tigers go against the FOR Mystics.  The Mystics are also going through a period of transition with losing their top scorer but still the team is competitive and plays with heart.  Coach Carlton was playing the underdog role well during the week but deep down I'm sure he was hoping for the upset.  Not quite...  Also the girls are going back to the "cursed" gym of San Pedro.  The gym for this year's FOR tourney debacle... 

The 1st half was very competitive with the Mystics playing hard but the Tigers behind early scores from Emiko and Kris got the team off to a early 6 - 8 point lead.  The Mystics battled and kept the game close but scores from Jodi, Emiko and Shelby gave the Tigers a comfortable lead at half.  The girls press caused the Mystics problems throughout the game.

The 2nd half of games is when the girls usually put teams away and it held true in this game.  Jodi played a good, aggressive game taking the ball to the basket and shooting well from the outside.  Emiko, despite being under the weather, played probably her best offensive game of the SBY season.  Shelby played tough as usual, creating havoc on defense, scored on a variety of layups and jumpers and dished out the assists.  Erica did her thing on defense/rebounding and had a nice 3 point opportunity.  Kris was streaky again but as long as she streaks with her uniform on..  CC, Lauren and Kristen played tough and all contributed to the win.  The Tigers pulled away throughout the 2nd half and won going away 43 - 18. 

So make no mistake (or Mystic) about it.. the girls offensive game is clicking.  And they exorcised any demons from the San Pedro gym left over from the FOR tourney.  Another great game for the girls!
