Tigers Tourney 2007 - TigerDomination (oops gave away my posting name..)

3 out of 4 years = Tiger Darlings Champs in Tiger Tourney (close 2nd in the "other" year too). 

Don't know what it is about the girls and the Tigers Tourney but if they can bottle up their play in Tigers, this team will be tough to beat.  This years tourney had the girls play extremely tough defense and a efficient offense with the girls averaging over 40 points a game.  Not bad for 10/11 year olds.

All 3 games were pretty much the same with the girls playing tough defense using the full court press to their advantage in shutting down the other teams.  Even their rebounding was much better in these games, especially against the big Starzz inside players.  Still could be improved but that part of the game didn't hurt the team this tourney.  Defense was led by Killer "E"s - Emiko and Erica with their aggressive play.  Kris flexed her muscles in a couple of games flinging an opponent to the ground.  Kayla and Jodi were quiet thieves having multiple steals.  CC patrolled the key and rebounded very well and Kristen was her usual aggressive self in playind D.  Lauren was also out their causing havoc pestering the guards.  I think the defense is what won the tourney.  Well, the offense wasn't too bad either...

Emiko followed up her great play the past few months with a great tourney offensively.  She would not be denied and shot the ball well all weekend and led the team in scoring.  Jodi "the microwave" heated up quickly in the Waves game by scoring the first 7 - 8 points and got the team off to the great start and they never looked back.  Jodi shot the ball well all weekend too.  Kayla was her usual self with an assortment of acrobatic drives to the basket coupled (or should I say tripled) with some 3 pointers.  Erica was aggressive on the offensive side of the ball and had several nice baskets underneath.  I think Eric's motivation techniques worked or else...  :)  CC and Lauren were scoring stars in the first game against the Dolphins and Kristen threw in a couple of baskets as well.  Kris "Mrs. Magoo" probably needs to wear glasses when she plays but being vain as she is...  Hopefully her confidence comes back but she contributed to the scoring barrage as well.  Great to see the balanced scroing from the team this past weekend.

The Tigers win the Tigers Tourney 5th grade gold division title by defeating the:  FOR Dolphins (37 - 14 good scheduling Bobby), Norwalk Waves (50 - 33) and FOR Starzz (38 - 14).  Great tourney girls and coaches!
