End Of Season - BTR Still Under Tigers Spell

The final game of the '07 JAO season was against FOR BTR.  A team that seems to have a mental block against our girls. 

The game started off a little ragged with both teams committing turnovers and missing shots.  Kris got the team off by scoring the first couple of baskets.  Emi got her offensive game going with several baskets and kept the team in the game.  Both teams played tough defense and with BTR's height, it was difficult to get scores on the inside.  In a tight, see-saw affair with both teams taking leads, the girls had a 2 - 3 point lead at half.

The 2nd half, which is usually "Tiger" time, had the girl's take control of the game.  Great defense by Erica, who was all over the floor & blocking shots, as well as CC and Laruen keyed the team's surge.  Emiko, Jodi and Erica made big shots and back to back 3's by Kayla and Kris really put the game in control for the Tigers.  BTR seemed to go through the motions after those 3 balls.  BTR appears to be up and coming but still can't get over their mental hurdle playing our girls.  Final score 31 - 17 Tigers.

That marks the end of the JAO season.  The girls finished in 2nd with an 8 - 2 record.  Congrats to the Spirit, who took first and played great this season.  A lot of "what ifs" in those Spirit games but hats off to them.  And congrats to our girls for playing great ball too.  They are getting more aggressive on defense, passes getting more crisp, offense/scoring has never been a problem for them, rebounding... well.. there is always something that needs improvement.. : )

Next up - tournament season.  Glad to have Shelby back!  Let's successfully defend the WLA championship.
