Tigers vs Sabers II

The 2nd go around with the Sabers was pretty much a mirror image of the first game - an easy Tiger win.  The Sabers are a fiesty, scrappy team but can't match the Tiger's height and power.

Coach Bobby's goal was to get more inside scoring this game and I think the team accomplished this goal.  I think just about all their baskets were inside of the key except for a Jodi jumper.  Kayla was aggressive in taking the ball to the basket and probably had the move of the year going behind the back on a nice drive to the hoop for a score.  And she had a And 1 ankle breaker where she had a Saber girl on the ground after the move. 

The girl's press led to layups for Emiko (who also had a nice buzzer beater score at the end of the half) and Emi also played her usual aggressive, tough defense.  Kris had some nice drives to the basket for scores and played good defense (for her..) :) She is playing with more aggression lately (hormones..).  Jodi played her usual calm, steady game and had a couple of nice drives off the "weave".  Erica did her "thang" on the boards and on defense like always and she needs to get the ball down low to show off her devastating drop step.  Courtney played tough and got some good looks and she took a good shoulder shot from a Saber but kept on tickin'.  Lauren and Kristen played great hustle defense and were looking for their shot.  And to match Emi's first half buzzer beater, Kristen threw in a buzzer beater as the game ended.  Final score was 29 - 12 Tigers.

Final game of the JAO season this weekend vs. FOR BTR.  I feel this will be a tough game against an improving, tall BTR team.  Let's end the season with a win!  Good luck girls.
