The Perfect Storm

Game 2 vs. Tiger Storm 9/17/2006

Game 2 of the SBY season was against our older sibling team - The Tiger Storm. 

With Tiffany Kho of the Storm raining in shots from all over the court, the game was tight throughout the first half.  The Darlings maintained the slight edge with a hellacious, tenacious (okay - "fairly" aggressive) press and good overall shooting and ended up with a 4 point lead at half.

The 2nd half brought the perfect "storm" but it came from the Darlings as their press and set offense took over.  The Darlings were getting layups off the press, draining 3 pointers and getting good looks running their offense.  The team will be tough to beat when multiple girls are "on" as in this game.   Final score was 39 to 23. 

The shots of the day coming from Jodi who drained a 3 pointer off the break (and I know she called "bank"..) and Emiko with a full speed "And One" layup.  Also wanted to mention the great pressure "D" played by Lauren/Kristen.  And the speed/skill of Shelby... wow.  And if all the girls could rebound like Erica....Also the great courage by Kayla who had a bad stomach ache during the game (must have been the spam/eggs she ate b4 the game) but still ran the team well.  And Kris... well maybe she doesn't need to play with her glasses quite yet.

Next up, time to calm another storm - WLA Storm.  9:00 a.m. game at Dominguez, so have the girls rest up and pump them with frosted flakes for breakfast!
