Hello everyone, fellows compatriots and interested readers, near and far. Welcome to DEN KAVEY KHMER (or The Realm Of Khmer Poets.)

Poetry is one vital root of literature and it has always been my dream to contribute to Khmer literature. This is because Khmer is the first language that I learned to speak; and it was through this language that I began to learn about everything in life. It has been nine years since a few friends and I compiled a successful poetry booklet called Moullathan Kavey in Sydney (NSW, Australia), however the lack time and finance prevented us from follow up with a 2nd Edition though I had it ready, and still have it now, just waiting to be printed. So the passion was put down to rest, awaiting to be arisen again one day.

Then along came the internet age.... I always explored the idea of putting my poems on a webpage for it is more cost-effective than to print booklets, but Khmer fonts proved to be cumbersome. The most simple idea seemed to be to make the poem in image formats but to achieve acceptable clarity means very slow download time on the Internet; meaning it could take up to 2 minutes before a reader could read a poem of choice.

Technology improves remarkably through the years then Year 2003 arrived and brought with it, along with many wonderful things, affordable Internet broadband services... So it could be said it was a new dawn for Internet and IT'S TIME FOR MOULLATHAN KAVEY TO BE REINCARNATED!

If there are flaws or spelling mistakes in the poems and I welcome corrections and criticisms; I will do my best so to improve and rectify them.This poetry webpage is still in its infancy stage and a far cry from the future vision I have for it; but being a one-man show; with me being the poet, visual designer and webpage builder all in one, it will be a while before I can achieve this objective.

I hope that, in the future, this unique homepage will be filled with the best Khmer poems from many poets around the world.
